I would suggest making cards off the units in the game and you can have minerals and vespene be be cards as well that are used in the process of getting out a unit. The details and stuff I'll let you work out but I think making it similar to a game of starcraft is your best bet. You could use players as bonus cards or cards with special abilities similar to Magic the Gathering and planeswalkers.

If you made a game like this I would at least give it a shot but to top Magic as my favorite TCG would be difficult.

Wow, if they ever make this, they should make Idra a player card with a special ability. Every time he loses a match, there's a percent chance he'll go on tilt. If he loses consecutive matches, this chance to go on tilt increases until he wins a match whereas it resets.

Yeah pretty weird poll. Probably should stick to just one game which I guess would mean Starcraft 2. Strongest card would probably have to be Nestea/MC/MVP or something, if not , then there shouldnt be any koreans at all. In BW Flash (his nickname Ultimate Weapon says it all) would have to be the strongest card, and I say that as a Jaedong fan.
Noones seriously gonna think that Drewbie should be anywhere near the very strongest players in the world, and I dont think Testie really plays SC2.

Units would be better cards than players. You may also want to focus on either BW or SC2, as right now you seem to be trying to combine the two.

The problem with using players is that their skill levels change quite often, so therepresentations of them on the cards won't be realistic in a few months.

Based on the player list you've come up with, you also have no idea what you're talking about, so you might want to talk to people who do. (Old foreigner BW player, current BW player, current SC2 koreans and foreigners, and Drewbie, who's bad.)

Yeah I would also be more interested in game unit cards personally, and it seems like it would have better potential to sell to a broader consumer base.

Either create collectible card, like baseball cards, without a game (not going to happen, because you'll never get the rights use photo's of all top players). Or create a game with good flavour... using the starcraft universe as the setting. Otherwise you'll be wasting your time and money.
If you're serious about this you should start be designing a good game (on a mechanical level), otherwise it's never gonna work.

What is the definition of the strongest card? A very powerful card with marginal use, or a very versatile card that is less "OMG!" at first sight?

If they were official Blizzard products, then my answer would probably be yes (simiar to the Warcraft TCG, but with starcraft units instead --not talking about gameplay as I dont know how to play the warcraft tcg), and I'd probably play them at least 5 times a week, more depending on how many differnet people i had to play with.

Im not sure how u would play a game with these cards? It'd be alright if they were just stats cards kinda like hockey cards or other sports cards. You could include matchup stats, apm, acomplishments etc.

If u want to make it a playing game like pokemon or something i think using the in-game units would be a better idea, and something tht would appeal to more people.
