The OGN and MBCgame studios actually have big screen TVs on the sides showing the first person view of the players full time.

This would definitely be good for SC2, though.

i remember at blizzcon (and maybe MLG, don't remember specifics) they had the screens showing the 2 player's FP view.... however i think it'd be fucking awesome if they figured out a way to include it on streamed tournaments (like GSL/NASL/other online ones)...

however, this means having the computer nearby, if not streaming themselves... which limits it to either live events, or a high-end PC / internet for the player to stream their screen

with the grubby/tlo showmatch it was great how both players were streaming their first person view during the cast/match i felt like it added so much to the experience :D def something to add for lan/tournament events

i think you didn't really understand what the question is about.
it's NOT about the "player camera" option when you spectate/watch a replay.
it's about the actual screen of the players, where you DO see the cursor, the ways the box units, and fly over the map via hotkeys.

Basically I would only want to see glimpses of the players doing first person view not lengthy amounts of time. I do think it would be great filler for the slow moments in games where casters fumble to talk about something.

I agree, watching BW games when they would switch to someone's FPV made it much more fun to watch. I'm all for this idea!

When I saw the title my answer was no, but after reading your motivation it changed to a yes.

I would also really, REALLY like a picture in picture when a drop occurs.
Focus the main battle, but when seeing a drop on the mini-map I want vision, even if it is just a small picture in a corner.

A first person view with the cursor would be nice in SC2, but I think a camera behind/beside the player would be neat too, so that we can see them using the keyboard and mouse. I thought I saw a video of something similar to this, and I think tournaments trying to implement that would be neat.

I would LOVE if people did this or blizzard added in some type of functionality for this. One of my favorite things in watching sc1 was having the camera switch to a player's FPV for a few seconds and then to the other, then back to the game. It added a whole extra level of excitement to the game in my opinion.
