For the tournaments that have player cams at the bottom of the UI, they could switch that to some kind of player view during the game, and only show the players during the start or end of a game. It might be hard to see depending on stream quality, but for an event with great stream quality like the Blizz Invitational, I could see it working.

I actually...suggested this back in gsl open 3 or so, but gom didn't really do anything about it T__T

I would absolutely love this. I want to see Code S level control for 10-15 secs at a time. And no, replay "FP view" does not count.

Would like to see this implemented, loved the short moments in SC:BW where they would have this. I will admit, I'm a tad afraid it might not be as amazing after all the FPV streams the community has been spoiled with upon the release of SC2.

When I go to MLGs the only thing I do is watch the featured station so that I can watch from the player's perspective. So much more to learn and much more entertaining for me.

MMA Drop micro would cause too many seizures.

What if you could select a unit when spectating and see from his view... Wouldnt that be awesome... Jump into the eyes of a colossus for example and see everything from his angle
Oh and you would have mouse-view to direct view direction

I like the idea of it. In my opinion it would be similar to what Halo commentators do with the Astro Listen in. Where they don't talk for a minute and just let the spectator watch through the eyes of a player and listen to the team. Obviously this should be a bit shorter for SC2 as 1 minute can be a lot of time, but I think it is a cool concept.

EDIT: I think over the shoulder camera angles from time to time, however, would be awesome!
it doesnt matter if the mouse cursor isnt there, anyway you can appreciate it, they should test it in some tournament and ask to ppl if they want to see it more often. i really enjoy watching Fpview and im sure more ppl will too.

If they were ever to do this, it should directly show the screen of the player instead of the player view option you have as a spectator. I'd like to see the mouse cursor and boxing, which is missing when you switch to another player's view like in replays. You get a better sense of apm too that way.

Yes i would like that. I sent an e-mail to sundance and mlgpaul to see if it would be possible to get the 2 stage computer streaming so everybody can watch their favorite player while listening to commentator in audio.
I think that would be just awesome if they can implement that in a future MLG.

The half of the fun is to see the sick accuracy with the mouse.

Having FPV and showing players faces just like they do at OSL/MSL in BW is perfect imo.

sc:BW has been doing it for longer then halo is out. dont reference that garbage on here.

This would be great. Also, it shouldn't be hard to pull off for pretty much every major lan-tournament that has a stage-setup like mlg. Just capture the computers in the two booths. At least i don't see where the difficulty would be.
Would love to see this more often

no, this means they'd be outputting the players' screens themselves, not simply switching the "views" while in observer mode.
i think it'd be a great idea, bw broadcasts don't nearly do enough of it these days.

This thread needs to reach GOMTV staff. ^^ Good suggestion!

I don't know how much I would like watching the first person cameras of players in tournaments - it would get pretty hectic.
The faces of the players, though, is a really nice touch I think most tournaments should use.
