One of the coolest parts about watching korean BW was when once in a while the screen would switch to one of the player's first person screen views. It was amazing seeing the contrast between the observer camera and what the players were actually performing. Most importantly, it really gave a sense of the immense skill of the players that is sometimes hard to get from just the observer view. How cool would it be to see Puzzle's screen as he does his 555 apm blink micro, or marineking as he does his crazy splits? Obviously this is not an option for most tournaments, but I think it'd be really cool if those with the resources would give some thought to implementing this. What do you think?
Edit/Clarification - I'm talking about ingame-screen views such as those you see when you watch players streaming

The only facial expressions I think it worth switching to is the emotional reaction to winning/losing a major engagement, which usually decides the game.

This is about the pov of the players playing, not their faces.

At first glance I thought this was about spectating games from an fps view of a unit like a critter walking around.
That would be pretty cool.
But the players view would be nice to see in major tourneys.

I don't see why not actually. I believe BW even has permanent First-person views on seperate screens during the entire match, just for the spectators in the stadium.

I've always wondered why they rarely ever do this in SC2. I would definitely would like to see it more in professional casts.

I dont think fp view adds anything significant to the entertainment of the viewers. Because you cant see their mouse cursor etc watching battles or micro from the first person perspective, it LOOKS no different aside from a less predictable and shaky camera view that would probably be more confusing than impressive to a casual viewer.
EDIT: I think over the shoulder camera angles from time to time, however, would be awesome!

I think you would miss more than you can see from observer view. We always have replays to watch first-person perspective.

only if the first person view has it so you can see the mouse cursor movements like in BW. PLEASE IMPLEMENT THIS!!!

In BW they showed only a few seconds, maybe 10-15, of jaedong controling mutas or flash macroing etc. Something like that where they switch from observer POV to player's POV and then back after 10 sec. That would be cool

Yeah they would have to switch it so we're actually viewing the screen of the player like BW. Switching to their view using SCII observer tools wouldn't be so great especially with the forced smooth camera panning that would kind of ruin the whole experience.

Would be sick. doubt were gonna see it in the near future though.

Yes! I really want the GSL to start on this! I think it'd be sweet if they could do like instant replays of battles in first person view. That way you can see the micro from the observer's perspective followed by the players'. Since you already have seen the battle once when watching the first person view you can watch the player's micro much more carefully.
