Not really the same. Since Thorzain, Naniwa and probably SaSe get a trip to Korea and get 1 month of housing from GSL if I am correct.

IMO I think this is a good thing, as much as Im dissapointed i dont get to see the top level korean talent, It'd be nice to see foreigners play in a big tournament where they actually have a chance at victory. You can say "they wont try to get better" now, but thats BS because every other big tournament has the korean talent, and the best foreigners are going to be trying to win those as well. We need a foreign tournament where foreigners actually have a good shot at winning to encourage new players to try and go pro, and eventually the pool of foreign talent will grow and get stronger and be able to compete with koreans. As it is, i still think someone from the remaining korean teams is going to win.

Thats rather dumb. you tell the Koreans that you'll cover 2k. they say to you they want you to cover it all. Well if 2k will cover it then tell them that you'll cover it all. seems like really poor thinking on NASL's part. There is some measure of face to keep. NASL should not kowtow to wishes of the Korean teams- it runs its own league, with a damn good prize pool. It should be a mutual interest for participation: the Korean teams get money/fame, and NASL gets revenue off brand name players. However, if NASL goes and pays for every Korean, it seems that the Koreans somehow are more valuable than the tournament itself- that they get their way. So either way, the Koreans probably knew how much money it takes- it would be silly if they came to a decision on an arbitrary number. Therefore, if they knew that 2000$ would cover it, not to mention the fame for the players, the fact the INSISTED on "all expenses paid" was not for more money per se, but a demand for respect or status

Then you say, "you can't upgrade to business class or first class. But we'll cover your travel costs." Was that really the mentality you had when you were negotiating with the Korean teams?

Nestea previously indicated he's not interested in playing online leagues outside Korea though, so he wouldn't be participating in the actual season.

I mean, if 2k a person doesn't cover the expenses, I can understand that, but that's something they should have considered beforehand. The other issue is that NASL s2 was shaping up to be a lot more interesting then s1, mainly due to the influx of korean players. Now that they're all out, we're going to end up with night upon night of irrelevant low-level matchups. I want to support (and pay for) NASL, but if it's at 'foreigner' (IPL) level, there's no way in hell I'll pay for it. (It does explain why Hero switched to TL tho ;p) Watch GSL? 100% Korean

So your saying the Koreans wanted champagne and caviar on the plane? Why not just arrage it yourself. Tell the teams you will have everything ready and will book the flight etc for them. I highly doubt they will demans business class or first class on the plane. Nor run up the hotel bill on kimchi.

Don't worry NASL, if it's not in your budget to fly Koreans over then there's nothing that can be done about it. It was said in the thread several times now that 2k$ are actually just enough for the travel... So I really don't get it. Especially making it a last minute decision like that, it has been known from before season 1 that the players/teams must guarantee to be able to commit to the grand finals in case of a qualification. :| On August 12 2011 08:47 masterbreti wrote: So your saying the Koreans wanted champagne and caviar on the plane?
