At least it's a tournament I imagine most foreign players will be happy about -_- 100k in prizes and no GSL stars standing in the way.

Any discussion about how good those initial terms were seems beside the point to me. If they had signed a normal business contract, NASL would be well within their rights to sue the pants off these guys. Could you imagine what would happen if the NFL players union got together and suddenly said "we're not playing unless you do X. We don't care what we already agreed to." Can someone from NASL answer this? The contract part is what I wanna know. Enforce the damn contract. From a business perspective, I would try to make them hold their end of the bargain. It is only fair... and the law?

i think Koreans are making a poor choice here. they are struggling for sponsorships and money but it sad that they don't realize that western exposure of there players will help them get some great new western sponsors. imo bad decision for koreans to get western exposure. next thing is everyone needs to relax. the foreigners are still capable of putting on really good matches. look at eu blizzcon invitational. look at TB's shoutcraft. great games can still be had with or without Koreans.

That said, i will be buying a season 2 ticket. gl nasl, we still love you. Edit: @the same player pool thing. Think of it as more drama, say idra knocks out kiwi in ipl, but they're in the same grouo for nasl. :o. Draaamaaaaaaaa

Sure, there was WoW fans, but do they really account for such a large portion of 65k that there were very few people actually there to see SC2? No, doesn't make any sense. Also, saying the EU scene is "low level" is silly. Then just look at dreamhack instead... It wasn't stacked iwth koreans and still had insane viewer numbers.

Tell the teams you will have everything ready and will book the flight etc for them. I highly doubt they will demans business class or first class on the plane. Nor run up the hotel bill on kimchi. We already set the precedent for this in Season 1. We bought tickets for MC, Zenio, PuMa, Squirtle with the deal that we'd subtract it from their prize money. We actually lost money on Zenio because he lost in the first round. We have already proven our determination in making sure Koreans make it to the event.

All pros want to be paid to play. There's not much of a point in being a pro otherwise. As a fan, I want to see the highest level SC2 that my money can buy, and Im not buying a pass for the purpose of 'supporting e-sports' and never actually watch a VOD or anything like that. NASL just got a whole less attractive.

To me reading this post it almost seems like Korea has a view of "you need us, we don't need you". Which I can understand, GSL is very successful but the foreign side of SC2 is growing so large there should be a strong will to branch out. I understand the Korean scene has it's reasons but to me it just seems like a selfish decision in the long run. The success of Korean players in NASL season 1 was fantastic and the fan base loved it (maybe not EVERYONE, but most). This just seems like such a harsh cold shoulder to E-sports. It needs to grow and branch out, not turtle itself into 1 section of the world. We have foreign players moving into GSL to improve themselves and some players show just such great promise. I'll still be watching NASL regardless as I feel it will only do great things for E-Sports but I really wish the Korean scene would reconsider their decision and help make SC2 grow even larger. It can go far on it's own but it can go even father if we work together to put on some of the greatest matches people have seen (ThorZaIN vs MC in TSL3 comes to mind). Oh and let's not forget about the NASL finals with that major comeback from MC, granted that was two Koreans but it was within a foreign tournament which is a great thing. To be blunt, my initial reaction is this is a selfish move... but it won't question my views on anything. In reality this just opens the doors for some more foreign players to maybe show their face on the scene and make a name for themselves. All we can do is hope. ♥Skurkitty♥

And really to the guys that said GSL feels threatened by NASL? I mean they are not really comparable and frankly the Koreans saved the NASL.

1) If Koreans would compete in NASL 2, they would win A LOT of money + attract more viewers 2)??? 3) PROFIT!!! It's a win win situation for both parties. I DO NOT understand Koreans at all... like i said: That's why i hope the Koreans will stay closed on themselves, just like in SC1. They are just too exotic to us to understand WTF do they want... Let them play in their own playground, so we can have the REAL e-sports!
