lol. in terms of last season's competitors, the likes of ret, thorzain and naniwa would hardly be considered low level.

![]() All this being said, it is sad to see that an agreement couldn't be reached regarding this. Any players not being able to participate in a tournament simply because of expenses is unfortunate, especially considering the level of play that Koreans are known to provide. Looking forward to Season 2! :D

Doesn't seem professional that the offers and demands are being shown to the public. Transparency is good. If they just said that most Koreans won't be playing in NASL and gave no further info, there'd be a huge shitstorm on TL and I suspect that most people would blame NASL for it. Assuming the OP isn't misleading, describing what happened is completely reasonable.

In fact I think the Korean scene making some sort of a stand is going to be good for everyone in the long run. However what is going on here with putting players into a qualifier, accepting invites, all with full knowledge of what NASL pays, and then threatening to last minute pull everyone out is just not acceptable behavior. Makes me very sad to see this organization used for these ends. I hope the Korean scene can come to re-think their actions and act differently in future situations. Yeah...it's exactly like if Thorzain, Jinro, Naniwa and Sase went to Gom studio 2 days ago and said "sorry, you pay us 2000$ each or we don't play and you have no broadcast today, sorry" Seriously, what the hell with this korean association ?

I can say with complete confidence that the best games I have ever seen in Starcraft II have not come out of Korean players, but from the foreigners. But, oh well, I guess some people aren't in it for the entertainment from the game, but simply from the players participating. ![]() All this being said, it is sad to see that an agreement couldn't be reached regarding this. Has anyone here auctally tried to caculate the cost of a 1 week trip to cali from seoul and back. its damn expensive. Being almost 3k with hotel and airfare and such. For the chance at $500, which would still lose them $500 if NASL paid 2k. I can understand why the teams would do this tbh. They are not in a healthy state in Korea and of course they would want people to pay, since they can't temselves. I can answer this question. We paid for Korean players to come to NASL Season 1. We bought tickets for MC, PuMa, Zenio, and Squirtle. We paid $1,192 for each ticket. The hotel cost was $353 for the entire event. Travel cost was about $80 per person (shuttle service to and from). This averages out about $1650, factoring in meals ($50 per day even) ... giving each player $2,000 should cover that. Then why not just say to them "we're covering your entire costs," instead of putting a limit on it. Thats rather dumb. you tell the Koreans that you'll cover 2k. they say to you they want you to cover it all. Well if 2k will cover it then tell them that you'll cover it all. seems like really poor thinking on NASL's part. What if they request business class, or first class? There has to be a limit, otherwise the demands will go unchecked.

I just find it hard to debate $2,000 being an issue? they are progamers this is what they basically play for, is to make money and for teams to turn it down can only hurt the team itself from a possible higher rate of income into their progaming team. If what is said and offered is true, This is basically the only things i can really think of, just talking out of my ass also so don't flame me :D

I think the real issue is just how late the decision was, I would probally understand it if it were made earlier.
