See? This line of argument gets you nowhere.

That hotkey was especially bad for WC3 because Alt was the healthbar hotkey and a few spells (especially the Beastmaster's quillbeast summons) had hotkey Q

because Alt was the healthbar hotkey HP-bars are always ON

I swear mine alternates between Quit and Surrender options >.>
F10 + Q and F10 + N, and only after the patch did I ever have to Quit (rather than Surrender) a game that was still going on.
And this happens for me on ladder games, as that's all I play.

Guys, this bug is only on 1 of the new maps. I hope they fix it tho^^

Eventually they added the option to turn them to 'always on', but a long time you had to *hold* the ALT key to get that effect. I remember still holding ALT for a while even though I had that option enabled, just out of habit.

Rebinded F10 -> H is more good.
H -> N ftw more.

As far as I can tell there is random alternation between F10 N and Q for surrender as there also is for victory between S and Q.
I have noticed this since the blue flame patch, though it might be be related to the ladder reset and the new map pool - i.e. the new maps are coded (badly) in such a way as to prompt Q instead of N/S upon players leaving.
However I have not done research into this to confirm it any further... It's fairly low on my list of priorities.

Alt qq indeed should be a new fix, would bring back a nice feel to Bnet. But that would be taking a step back to a better (older) bnet which they wouldn't want! Although I don't really hit hotkeys to ever leave games by that point I just f10 and click it by hand. Don't really know why though.

me too, and i always "gg" so that's unrelated. I haven't noticed if it's specific maps...

its quit instead of score screen (when you win) too but it alternates aswell

If you don't use hotkeys to leave the game you won't have accidents.

actually this is something I've only noticed on the new maps all the old maps its still F10 -> N

I know at least if the map makers did not make the leave button called 'Surrender' it will default to quit, and it seems on some of the new ones they did not change it to 'Surrender'.

I actually won a game because of this the other day. As I moved out 3 reapers came in and started to mess up my probe line so I attacked while warping in 2 stalkers at home which proceeds to be stupid and not move 3 pixels to be in range of the reapers so I lost 75% of my probe so I went for the good ole no gg f10n and was surprised when I was still in the game. Decided to just attack with everything and try to win which I did.
