Removing meta is more than understandable. The game needs constant new maps in order to fight off repetitious play and sterility. I'm sorry to meta fans and pythons fan out there, but maps like that HURT the community. Maps which are disproportionately played and become basically a sacred cow that no one can conceive of not being there? Not a good thing. I think its odd they kept some terrible maps while removing meta- like backwater- but the removal of meta in and of itself is not only a smart thing, its a necessary thing.

Well, at least they're finally getting rid of Delta Quad.
Why take out metalo? it's a good map >< I'm half and half with scrap station as well.

Not too impressed with the new maps. Hopefully blizz one day realizes that backdoor rocks do not make maps.

Well i guess metal was getting old. But i damn well will miss it but other than that finally blizzard taking out the maps i vetoed

Removing Metalopolis while keeping a trash map like Backwater Gulch. I mean I can understand it's old and probably due for replacement, but can't we do better than Backwater Gulch? There is a half dozen maps from GSL that would be much better choices. Also no fixing/removing of "close position" spawning being announced makes me disappointed.

WHAT WHY METALOPOLIS!?!?!? that's dumbest decision ever... Metalopolis is considered the most balanced map by pro gamer as far as i know... that's stupid... anyway let see !

I was really hoping to see blizzard add some of the successful recent tournament maps to the pool, like Terminus or Crevasse. Given all of the awesome games that those maps have produced at the super high levels recently, I thought that they would have really spiced up the ladder pool.

Other than that, I think the changes are all pretty solid. I'll miss metalopolis, but hopefully the new maps can make up for its absence.

Does anybody know if one of the new 2v2 maps is actually a three Team Spawn (6 total spawns) map like it was previewed. I would really prefer that as a map just because it would look really cool and is a new and interesting feel. That being said I like more maps like Tempest that have four Team Spawns (8 total spawns).

Since when was there a Zerg bias on Metalopolis? I'm a Terran player, and if you had to pick from Metalopolis or Shattered Temple and say which one was more Zerg favored, I would say Shattered in a heartbeat. Shattered Temple allows the Zerg to constantly watch your mineral line as well as having the most wide open middle of almost any map. I'm not saying that either Metalopolis or Shattered is OP or imba, but Metalopolis especially is not Zerg "biased" as you call it. Please don't post things that are completely untrue and have no evidence supporting it.

seriously? metalopolis is not a good map. It is just the best one from the first batch of ladder maps.
I for one am glad that it good removed and hope blizzard will improve it in the future.

Why, because you say it is?

Blizzard reports 60%+ win percentage for top tier zergs on that map, and that is including close positions which many zergs claim to be autoloss. How big do you imagine the zerg win percentage for cross positions to be?
