I'd be less upset about them removing Metalopolis if they weren't replacing it with a map like Searing Crater. Still, Cross Pos and Close pos were imba, so whatever... some of the new maps looks good.

Abyssal Caverns: Kinda reminds me of metalopolis besides the destructible rocks and one tower. It seems like close pos. would still be hard for zerg.

Antiga Shipyard: Looks like a FFE map for me anyways. Looks moderately easy to take a third

Nerazim Crypt: Not much to say! Looks a little dull in my opinion. I would love to see a xelnaga tower like the one in Xelnaga Fortress that disappears!

Searing Crater: Looks ok! Looks like blizzard really likes their destructible rocks! I didnt read all of the posts so is it possible so siege/colossi attack the natural from where the gold base is?

Dont really know what to think! I guess ill find out tomorrow!

All the bad maps from previous + Metalopolis have been eliminated. 4 new maps, veto 3, keep the La Mancha copy. Awesome

I don't know why everyone is throwing such a fuss over removing metalopolis. I was hoping XNC would be removed as well. They're both good maps but I've been getting rather bored of them. I think a couple seasons rests would be good for both of them, and they could still bring them back in after a couple seasons.

New 1v1 maps are soo tank favored, and while I agree with the removal of Metalopolis, it's still one of the better maps Blizzard created. Hopefully it will return in the future, but more balanced.

Other than that, excited to test out the new team maps. I'm glad they removed that stupid Monsoon (Moonson?) map. One path to your opponent, and a tight one.

typhon peaks or even xelnaga caverns (with the natural being so open its hard to secure it but after it everything is cool) are bad and metalopolis is one of the best maps in competitive sc2 if you dont get close positions because its pretty straight forward and it feel really balanced and everyone feels comfortable on that map because it has been there since day1. the excuse they give to remove metalopolis is just dumb. and searing crater is awfully small

Metal got removed because it was only balanced by spawn positions. It was if you spawn close, zerg heavily unfavored. if you spawned far, zerg heavily favored. It is a bad way to balance a map. That is what blizzard is saying.

On another note, this is the first step blizzard is taking before zerg gets a nerf. if right now they are saying 3 maps are heavily zerg favored and then they remove 2 of them, zerg getting nerfed if it doesn't fix,

it's better late than never to realize the obvious. Funny how on Tal' Darim if Zerg can defend one base in the other corner of the map then the other 2 is theirs.

Yay no more Delta Quadrant!

I no longer have to worry about medivac drops at the high ground by my "safe" natural ♥

I'm gonna miss Metalopolis, but I understand them wanting to finally remove (temporarily) one of the oldest maps.
