What are your opinions on using the team colors (Alt + F) versus using real colors (As they are by default)?
I've noticed that Destiny uses the real colors when he streams. In tournaments, could this possibly throw him off because he might use different colors? Would he not even notice the change in colors?
At a pro level, does using Team Colors give you an advantage, disadvantage, or not make a difference?

I use team colors. (Where i'm green and they're red) at least on the minimap because i'm used to it in BW. The minimap is dark, so the red really stands out and makes it easier to spot stuff.

I think if you think it matters it will matter. I remember InControl said he (an anecdote on SotG I think?) played a game where his color was not the usual color and he said it arbitrarily messed with his game and he made a vow that he would not care about that again. It really shouldn't matter though, in Brood War you were always a different color (at least when I play) and it never seemed to throw the BW pros off.

BW had ally colors as well, and every pro used it.
I play with ally colors on because the red is just so much easier to see on the minimap for me.

Not sure) You could keep your original color in the game ie blue or red. BUT on the minimap it would appear as green and red (you and your opponent respectively). If i remember correctly most BW pros change it so not only the minimap is green and red. Their colors are also green and red.

It's very hard to miss BRIGHT RED PIXEL on black minimap.
So I have always black minimap and green-yellow-red. Sadly, that there are no option to change your green color to something, like purple or orange

I don't like using team colors because I can't tell who's who on the minimap... I don't find it hard at all to memorize the colors every game.

I don't like team colors because I've run into situations where someone says "Hey Red ______." and I don't know who they are talking about.

Meh, I don't notice much difference anyway. I am still watching the minimap for anything that looks odd (eg, anything that isn't my doing), if that blip on the minimap is blue or red doesn't matter much to me.
I also dislike having my buildings green so that's another reason for me to not use team colors.

Once in BW, I played a PvP as red. Then the next game was a rematch where my opponent was red, and I failed to react when he entered my base because I thought they were my units.
Ever since that, I've used team colors both in BW and SC2.

I'm just saying it is easier (if its not easier it certainly doesn't hurt) to see stuff in the minimap with the bright red and green (imagine if your opponent chose black on Metalopolis). Also in ladder games/custom games your color is not necessarily the same always same with the opponent. So it would be easier to get used to the same colors. Quick glances on the minimap, the bright colors help there also.

I'm for team colors. I wish they would differentiate your allies and your enemies though, not just all red or all yellow =/

It helps you, I don't think anyone can argue that, but the effect is minimal. There are plenty of BW pros who did just fine with whatever colors they were randomly given.
Might be a bit of a drawback in team games though, when everyone is red or yellow.
