I can't tell you the exact reason, but I can share supportive opinions why Assimilators should have more HP: 1. Terrans can repair refineries and zergs can transfusion extractors, but protoss can't do either of these. Shield regenerates though. 2. Protoss needs gas in order to survive - as it's widely known, sentries are the units that makes up for cost inefficient protoss army, and they're gas expensive! Anyway, it's not gamebreaking if it has more hp. Yeah, I do also think the need for gas is the main reason.

I don't want to say that the 900 HP Protoss Assimilator is imbalanced, I just wonder about the reason Blizzard uses this HP values.
It makes gas steal by a Protoss quite effective. May be this is one of the reasons, as a Probe can set up an Assimilator in the enemy base very fast. This would be useless if it does not has a lot of HP. Zerg can cancel/rebuild the Extractor. Only Terran has a hard time stealing gas.
* A Protoss with no gas still can cannon-rush, making up for the lack of very usable no-gas-units.

Makes me wanna learn Terran so badly. So I've been looking for some solid builds to learn, one per MU. TvP - ThorZains 2-2 Bio TvZ - MMAs Drop TvZ from MLG Columbus TvT - a 3 Tank timing into Marine/Tank/Medivac
do you feel there would be more efficient builds to practice?
Besides - anyone else switched from Zerg to another race and had severe problems getting to learn their macro mechanics? Constantly queing up stuff while microing stil feels unnatural and unaccostumed for me.
Yeah I literally get zerg about 8 out of every 10 games I play, its utterly ludicrous and makes ladder less fun with the lack of variation.
Concerning your builds, Thorzains TVP is quite solid, however MMA's tvz isnt really a build he just drops a lot. You have to be careful with this because MMA is VERY good at knowing where his opponents mutas are and so he drops at the opposite location while doing other attacks. It takes a lot of skill and some decent apm. That is not to say that you shouldnt do it, drop play is very good, you just need to practice it a lot.
TvT I don't like any sort of timings, what a lot of pros are doing is opening with a harass instead of any sort of macro build, for instance banshee, reaper, blue flame drop, etc.

So, i'm 4 base vs 2 base PvT i'm maxed with 3/3 mostly zealot/HT army. I march my army across the map trying to keep it spread out as much as i can. Suddenly my army got hit by something around 15 EMP's from cloaked ghosts. Just mass EMP on everything. after that when my army lost his 1 mining base still outproduced my 12+gateways but nvm, it's terran i'm used to this kind of bullshit. So my question is, what do i do about mass ghost? I didn't remake the observers because he sniped them with raven (i opened with DT FE), so that was my mistake, but even if they weren't cloaked, what do i do about this amount of emp?

A while ago there was a 3rax all in (I believe it was a 3rax) terran build on TL where the poster had managed to get some GM players with it, I was wondering can anyone find the thread for it. I've done a search and couldn't find it

1,2,3 -Army 4 - CC 5 - Production
or
1,2,3 - Army 4 - CC 5- Barracks 6 - Fact 7 - SP
Does it really matter if your buildings are on the same hotkey or not? I'm trying to find an optimal control group setup before taking the time to wire it into my brain.

Mass ghost isn't exactly the most common strategy but I would recommend going colossus instead of HT if you're ever in that situation.

As a Zerg who offs as Random, I do
6 - Bases 1,2,3 - Army 4 - Casters / Air 5 - Production / Queens.
I put all production buildings into the same hotkey and simply tab between them. 1-6 is easily reachable without moving your left pinkie from A. I've been considering shifting Queens/Bases over to 6/7 to open up an extra control group.

When I play Zerg, I usually bind the hatcheries into hotkeys 1-4. Pretty nifty for me til really late game. Might have to bind the hatches into one hotkey and just keep the queens separate. Either that or just click on the minimap often.

The majority of pro terrans put their production buildings on separate hotkeys. One exception that I can think of is Kas who puts them all on 5 I believe.
It's really up to you though.

I think to put your production buildings on diffrent hotkeys(6,7,8.. for example) is better. If they are all on 5 you have to press 2 times tab for medivacs, but if you scout with factory or it gets destroid you will end by tapping 2 times on the barracks again. Then you produce maybe wrong units and so on. Thats why i take 6 Barracks 7 FActory 8 Starport and 9 armory..

Um Just a quick question... I have a SEA and NA account but I cant connect to the NA server but I can for the SEA server... am I the only one having this problem or is there some sort of server maintenance I don't know about for NA.

NA is under maintenance, SEA is not.
On a note, LA is offline as well, since they are essentially the same server :|

The problem with Terran is the fact that nearly every freaking match up relies almost solely on bio play.
That's not the fault of the players, it's just them using the tools they've been given; but it sure as hell is boring to watch. I desperately miss BW Terran, and I think nerfing siege tanks in the beta was a huge mistake that's being felt now that everyone has adapted to the strength of bio. Unfortunately the mech option is so freaking weak that Terran can't really fall back on it.
The race got so many nerfs it didn't need that it's in a bad spot now - and I say this as a Zerg player.

Sorry to change the subject but tomorrow there will be a 4v4 tournament. You know, some gold teams, some mixed diamond/master teams.. sixjax team.. NaDa and Zenio on a team...
I'd put a liquibet on that gold team.

Slight offtopic here. Well, I think people are trolling at Terran just because it was OP in the beggining of season 1. Now it received a shitload of nerfs, but some guys just aren't gonna give up. I'm a terran player, and I'm really pissed of the fact Terran players are considered kinda inferior to others, and all because of the hate it received earlier. + Show Spoiler +In the WhiteRa vs Tarson series, Whitera was leading 2:0 at a time, then Tarson took a game and suddenly, EVERYBODY in the comments bellow started to say things like "oh terran is so OP" or "toss can't beat the MMM bioball" blablabla. The same haters kept their mouth shut when WhiteRa was owning Tarson in the previous two games, and nobody was saying how difficult is for a terran to deal with a 200/200 protoss bioball. Just keep in mind terran players have always received less respect from other. Examples: HuK, MC, FruitDealer, Spanishiwa, even IdrA have more fans from good terrans like Happy and Select. This feels so wrong. The game is balanced, but not the respect between its players. Thanks for reading that, I'm not trolling, just exposing the things they are. Everybody should respect other regardless of their race. Which in this case, is not the thruth.

Feedback, clean up with stalkers (presumably with blink at that stage of the game)

In fairness, I have nearly the exact opposite attitude. I respect terran players more than zerg and protoss. But I really like terran, am mostly ambivalent to playing zerg and absolutely hate playing protoss. To me it's a race built entirely on crutches... warping in units wherever you have a pylon, completely block units getting up your ramp or splitting in half easily, colossus, etc... zzz
