![]() quick question; i dont think this deserves thread what would the optimal practice routine (~4hrs is amount of time given, more time can be taken as improvement is seen but not at the moment) to break out of mid masters into high masters/GM/semi-pro range of play, mechanically my play is fine what i need is refinement and how to learn decision making (namely when to attack) how do i learn this?

So you know how people say that scouting as a zerg might be a bit too hard, considering all the kinds of stuff a terran or protoss can do? Well when I was playing on the new maps I noticed and was annoyed by how much smaller the mains were... you had to be more careful of your placement and that you saved a lot of space. Then I realized 1 of the reasons why the mains are smaller might be to address the scouting issue, to make it a bit easier. So in that way, even though there are "obvious terran advantages" against zerg on many of blizzard's maps (like cliffs behind bases or good harassment areas), the smaller mains will help zerg. So once again I'd like to say, good job blizzard, I'd rather play on GSL maps but your mapmaking is definitely improving ^0^ I would rather my opponent not be able to siege my main than know 100% that he is making tanks. Some of those positions (and bunkers) are ridiculous. If any of those maps make it into the pool as-is, they are getting insta-veto'ed even if it means that I have to deal with DQ and close position Slag Pits again.

http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/blog/2661142#blog StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty - Patch 1.3.5 General Players from Latin America and North America will soon be able to play games together, add each other to their in-game friends list, and compete on the same ladder. For more information on region linking, please visit the official community site. Several performance and memory improvements have been made. "Player Left" messages will once again appear in replays. The Hellion’s Infernal Pre-Igniter upgrade icon has been updated (now with more blue flames!). StarCraft II Editor Improvements UI errors will now go into a newly-created Error Display Message window. Cooldowns shorter than ¼ of a second no longer display on the command card. Still this is the news from the eu battle.net who says the NA and LA are linked kinda confusing, and it says soon. Is that at first after the reset or might that be like now? Because the 1.3.5 patch is all live etc.

ZvZ: 6-9pool ZvP: Cannons and void rays ZvT: 2 rax Out of the 15 games I've had 2 macro games. Because I haven't played in such a long time my micro is sloppy so i'm not able to hold this off. This is of course a very small game sample, but is this what people are doing nowadays? There used to be way more macro oriented play.. or maybe all the decent players have gone to master/GM and I'm stuck in diamond for a few weeks. (Like i used to be in, in S1).

You gotta hold off these early attacks to proceed to the macro phase.... I find 14 gas 14 pool usually holds off most P and T aggression and will help you get an expand up. http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/14_Gas_14_Pool ZvZ will depend on the map , you'll have to scout early !

IPL uses 'cloaked maps' so that the results can't be spoiled by viewing the player's match history, and the mapmaker hadn't updated to the newer version of Shakuras. I believe they're going to start using the new version at around day 7 or 8. (EDIT: I have no idea why i read week instead of day in that reddit post...) EDIT: It looks like they actually don't specify the week, but you can read what IGN has to say about other issues here.
