Deadpoet you either have an adblocker enabled that is prohibiting streams from showing ads or got very lucky. I still see plenty of ads for JTV or major tournaments.

This gets asked so much and the only real answer I have is to play and to lose. You lose and you suck. You suck and you die. You watch the replays of you dying and say jesus how could I not have died. Then you play again. This time you identify what killed you as it's happening and see it coming. You still die. Wth? Unfair imbalanced IdrA!
Then you get on team liquid. You use the search tool or simple question, simple answer in the strategy forum. Some kind poster tells you what you need to do to beat it, so you get a practice partner from that thread and practice against it over and over. All of a sudden you're winning! And after a while you realize that it was just silly to fear the ladder.
But it is scary at first.
Oh and playing with a trackpad is suicide. Anything other than a mouse is literally akin to putting your handicap at 50% in a custom game.

Back in season one, I peaked at the top of my platinum division. At the time, I was only able to play using the trackpad on my laptop. Eventually I grew frustrated with my equipment situation and stopped playing. Recently, I bought a usb mouse and started playing around in the campaign again... to the point I've actually unlocked 100% of achievements for it. But I've found that without that super-convenient excuse for losing games, I'm scared of jumping into the multiplayer portion of the game.

Custom games are a good way to get your feet wet too. Get comfortable, and you'll find yourself back on top of your game. Stuff has probably changed since you last played online, so you might find yourself a little rusty, but just use custom games and the chat get that rust off and then you can ladder like a boss. :D
My wireless mouse had some issues where the batteries died just as I was in a major battle, so I had to go through ten seconds of the most intense, scariest track-pad micro and then had to ask for a pause anyways. I can't imagine playing through an entire game on a track pad (I've since gotten a wired mouse).

I usually do this way. First I play 5 ladder games. Get completely demolished. After that I feel really shitty and upset. Suddenly I smash the desk and yell at myself + Show Spoiler +
"WHERE'S UR BATTLE SPIRIT, NIGGA"
Go to the kitchen and drink 2 coffees. Then start to wake up and... and you guessed it? Demolish the opponents on my turn. That's how I do it. It helps. It is just critical not to shit after losing the first 3 or so games, but to get angry and wake up.
Hey, I don't understand the GSTL pentagon graph which shows how many wins a team has against other teams (I think I missed the time they explained it).
Is the graph covering the time period of just this season? So if the yellow overlay reaches the fourth bar, does that mean they got 4 set victories against that team (and beat them). Or does each bar represent a win (4 set victories) and does the time period encompass all GSTL games from every season.
does anyone know of that youtube video where the guy tells you how to 4gate in real time, it was mentioned on TLATTACKep06 w/ SEN. I dont remember what it was called. PS: I am not posting this in the youtube thread because I don't have a video to offer =/

When I first started playing, I didn't have a mouse (I used a touch pad). I was in bronze. Then, I started using a mouse, and I pretty much immediately moved up to silver and then gold pretty quickly after. It makes a HUGE difference.

I believe this is the video you are looking for. It was the first thing that came to mind. Not sure if it's "in real time" though.

Ah no thats not the one. It kinda was like where you can play it in the background( you start the video the same time as the match) and it will tell you when exactly you place which buildings and when to chronoboost the workers/warpgate/ or units.
I dont think its worth to make an thread for this.
How do you guys keep your concentration up while playin for more than 7 hours(I think im playin now more than 10 but whatever). Is there any special mechanic or sth. to keep concentrated?

That's crazy. I get tired after 2-3 games. O.o
I guess take breaks and eat food whenever you feel tired or after a few games!

If you're not a professional gamer or practicing for a specific tourney or something, you really shouldn't be playing that long. Not healthy or beneficial for you.
Hey guys, I just noticed something cool about the new season 3 ladder maps.
So you know how people say that scouting as a zerg might be a bit too hard, considering all the kinds of stuff a terran or protoss can do?
Well when I was playing on the new maps I noticed and was annoyed by how much smaller the mains were... you had to be more careful of your placement and that you saved a lot of space.
Then I realized 1 of the reasons why the mains are smaller might be to address the scouting issue, to make it a bit easier.
So in that way, even though there are "obvious terran advantages" against zerg on many of blizzard's maps (like cliffs behind bases or good harassment areas), the smaller mains will help zerg.
So once again I'd like to say, good job blizzard, I'd rather play on GSL maps but your mapmaking is definitely improving ^0^

Question: Is it possible to get your account changed from NA to SEA? I know SEA players can play both NA and SEA. So do you guys think i could call and get my account changed to SEA thus allowing me to play on both servers? I know people who have done US to EU and vice versa but i've never heard of people going from NA to SEA. You guys think/know if its possible?
