How would you explain MMR unaffected if completing placement matches does not put you into a league? I actually just did placement matches with a few friends of mine for 3v3 last night, we're still not ranked after playing tonight. No points gained from our wins today either.

I think the placement matches thing works for some people and not for others.
Me and my friend did 2vs2 placements the day this started and we got placed.

Won 2 games today as favored and the other oppentent being favored. Gained no points, have they said anything on this issue?

No blizzard is wrong. People care about their points only because points are supposed to reflect your mmr. But it doesnt. But pple still see points because its the 'only' visual, supposedly tangible thing that we can see and hope that it can reflect our true skill.
My question is, with mmr working, and points not working, isnt playing ladder now and winning a bad thing? getting higher in mmr, which means harder opponents down the road that will make you lose points later on. Meanwhile you remain same point level now. So infact logging online now and dropping games on purpose makes sense.

Maybe... But I'm pushing to get back into masters and I would rather have my W/L be good than have more points.

I am not RustedScythe, but I recently met him on the ladder. I haven't earned any ladder points for the past two days. He played a game "4 hours ago" on the ladder and lost points, but the next game, on Tal'Darim Altar, he beat me and was awarded nothing. Ever since, he continues to earn nor lose any points. Thoughts?

i call BS on blizzard on saying MMR is unaffected. they have no choice but to say this! it's just a corporate PR statement that HAD to be said or else laddering would be in complete disaster and chaos.

Yup same with me. Ever since the 1's ladder got messed up I've just been playing team games (which I learned can actually be fun sometimes. . . when you have halfway decent allies). Played some 1's to see if it was working again, and it was! Buuuut, then it wasn't : /

Has anyone actually tested whether losing/winning games genuinely affects your MMR? Has anyone been demoted? Is anyone now facing gold league-ers?

Yeah it seems to randomly work/not work, may affect different people too (so someone could be gaining points while others may not at the same time possibly).

Dude guys, who cares about the points just fucken play , why are you guys so caught up with ladder and the point system... Blizzard is always challenging us to get better anyway, If you are scared of playing and losing points then why play at all? Play for the experience Not the Title or points. Its all about striving for better. Ladder is just basically ranked practicing, Unless your taking this system seriously and your a Pro gamer, then you dont really have room to talk
