like maps 1,2,4 but that 3rd 1v1.. the golds are way too hard to defend I think.

The first 2 maps are terrible. Too many rocks and too difficult to take a 3rd. Other 2 are ok.

Lol, all these maps seem to be so small.. Blizzard continuing with the shitty maps & making rushes powerful. Sigh, I should learn to do some 1-2base all-ins as Z, because these are the only things you can do on most blizzard maps. Even in close by air..

mmm i am part of the community and love delta (and thats what the downvotes are for, so that the strange 15% liking maps were standard doesn't work, can still get their maps) hehe. As usual nice variety from blizzard, but somehow these maps look ugly from this perspectiv. atleast in 1v1, but nice to see addition in all areas except ffa.
They look simple though, so macro people will have their fun with them. As fast expansion seems easy on most of them.

Can they just give us GSL maps... this is ridiculous.. I thought Blizzard was trying to reduce the effectiveness of timing attacks..

I'm glad I switched to Terran is all that I can say about these new maps. Blizzard seems very limited in their perspective for map designs - or just plain stubborn in their ways. It's like baking the same type of cake over and over.
Protoss win, Protoss OP. Terran win, Terran OP. Zerg win, Zerg OP. Less whine, more gg.

map1 is okay, because it doesnt hide whats going to happen there.^^
i feel the second and third map maybe could work if there just would be cross position spawnings. the fourth looks kinda good.
but i really dont get why blizzard want every diamond/master/gm player not to use there ladder anymore. i can undestand that you need some more rush likable and smaller maps for the lesser leagues... but just maybe make 2 different ladder pools?

Just theorycrafting , but Kerrigan’s Wrath (the 2nd one) looks like it should favour terran as they can actually easy take their 2nd with a proper usage of tanks but with those can also easily kill the rocks for the natural of their opponent.

Map 4 is the only map Z can easily take a third, it looks like. Map 2 has a close third, but unless it's cross spawn Z will be in big trouble. Parallel Horizontal spawns on Map 3 runs into the same problem that close spawn Metalopolis (and old Shakrus) has: Opponents share a third, and the third is towards the opponent.
This /sigh is directed at you, Blizzard mapmaking.

The maps are interesting but I think we need to stop looking at Blizzard to solve the maps problem, GSL is doing a good job so far.

Cross positions only on Map 4 seems to be the only way any of these maps would be tournament viable. Not really impressed with any of them though.

The complaint against close positions is that it's anti zerg. Your points about solid chokes also make walling off against zerg easier.

No, it's not anti-zerg, it's anti-defensive-lategame-zerg.

The smaller naturals help too, for defensive zergs. For example, Hellions aren't nearly as good.

Macro maps are ALWAYS the best. Why? You can play macro, you can cheese, you can 1 base, you can do a 2 base all in, greedy. Anything!

Slag pits close positions uhh, 1 base all in?

Is there any ideas yet of which maps these will replace in the current map pool? Im hoping maybe Slag Pits, Delta Quadrant, Scrap Station and maybe Backwater. Really hope some of the most loved maps
eg: Metalopolis and Xel naga which have been in the pool for quite a long time don't get removed.

I don't get why you guys keep saying there are no easy thirds except for the 4th map? How ridiculously easy do you guys want thirds to be in order to be considered "macro"???

Either that or you don't realize how NOT hard it is to take those thirds. They're all relatively easy, and the 4th one is super super easy and safe. Heck, the third in the first map is even a Gold.
