You can just pick only F.United players and after 5 weeks you can trade them for FXO players and you are guaranteed to get no negative points. Or am i missing something? They rise in value the more matches they still have to play, and you can only trade one anti-team member per week.
By the way, can we have some feedback from experienced Fantasy Proleaguers? How top-heavy should you aim to be, how much can one earn from choosing the right 1-pointers early on, and should you spread your players' teams wide, or is it better to trade in line with the schedule?

Haha... I think I was always competing for that... Unintentionally.

MMA is actually one of the most played person in GSTL from season 1-3 stats.
Edit: Though I agree that in future it might decline because then he was still a new talent but now he has won enough so I can see Slayers letting other players to play

I've completely redone my team now, focused a lot on strong, all-round players I believe will play a lot (I guess the points for playing will add up). I also tried to spread them fairly evenly amongst the teams, not bothering with teams I think will lose unless there is a really great player I want to have.

I'll say one hint though.
CHECK. THE. SCHEDULE.
Is something really going to be done about the obvious schedule problem with trading? Like giving FXO players a trade value of 1 if traded after the 5th week (1 if on the team, 20 if you are wanting to trade them into your anti-team)
I'd hate for the winner to go: Well I made sure none of my anti-team ever played.
Hint: F.U. Has some fairly expensive players that won't play for 5 weeks.

Since F.United is basically 5 players, if they actually do fail, the best you can hope for is that they 0-4 all matches. Almost a guarantee that you'll get negatives somewhere if you go 2/5ths of a team. They don't play a single match until Week 6, so most people will just trade them away before then
It's smart

If you want to trade them out, you'll have to switch them out for higher-value players who probably will perform well in the future and ruin your score. If you don't trade them out pretty much the same thing will happen unless they go 0-4 all the time. You can also only trade one player from your anti-team per week, so it's pretty pointless to put players you know are good (Moon, Thorzain, and Naniwa, for instance) on the anti-team.
I think the smartest thing to do is just to anti-vote people that you don't expect to be sent out all that often, but probably will play pretty badly when they do.

Terran OP
changed my mind for like the 100th time. gonna go with 3 terran aces and 2 solid protoss and 3 rising players.
Main Team 9 MMA (captain) -ace 7 sC - ace 7 aLive - ace 4 Genius -best protoss on mvp, good player to boot 2 Ace - solid protoss who gets fielded 1 Hero -rising protoss player 1 Creator -rising protoss player 1 BBoongBBoong - rising zerg on a team with no zergs
4 MVP - good value
Anti Team 4 Curious - prolly wont play 4 InCa - only good at PvP, wont play much 5 Lyn - wont play - bad player anyway

The problem is the adjusting values based on games left. When lyn and moon start playing who will you trade for? Is trading the anti team like your normal team but the opposite? (meaning you have to trade for someone worth more points than who you currently have instead of less?) If that is true it will be interesting watching Moon and Lyn players try to find someone to pick up who costs more than -5, and then i assume values will decrease for the anti-team if you have less games left making it harder to reach the necessary 13 points.
But then again it may be worth it. Who knows?

Why is everyone picking Hero? I look at his stats and they're horrible. Have I missed something?

He is played in GSTL, at least previous seasons and just got qualified to Code A by beating DongRaeGu in the final match. Also he is 1 point so he has good cost/skill ratio and is considered to be a good up&coming player

Thanks for the heads up. Ill do some theory crafting later for the teams. Already had QXC in mine, had Alica to start with but took him out. Might have to put him back in.

Also huk said one time that Hero is a rising star. He does really well in pratice games. The only thing that he really needs is to work on nerves.

Fuck, I had finally decided on leaving Happy out, and now I probably have to put him in again. Will this puzzling never end?!

I'm just wondering how much they will go up in value, and the opposite being also true, will players who are actually winning, but don't have many matches to go actually go down in value. I'm just doing this for fun, so I haven't really though it all out, but I can tell you that I have some players that if they don't rise too much in value before Week 4 will get traded for players who have played matches.
