I found a nice method, how to toggle health bars for all units (or for your/enemy objects only).
1) Rebind show HP-bars to double-hotkey, like [Shift]+[Z] (or any letter) or [Alt]-[`] (alt and tilde) 2) Press both hotkeys. 3) Unpress both hotkeys WHILE HOLDING second hotkey.
Now you can toggle ON/OFF health bars ![[image loading]](http://pspfaqs.ru/forum2/images/smilies/kolobok/smile.gif)
Who dont understand, what I mean, again (Shift+Z as example)
1) Press Shift 2) Press Z (holding Shift) 3) Unpress Shift (holding Z) 4) Unpress Z
Thats all.

Or you could use the function in the options menu...or Alt....

He's saying you can toggle HP bars on/off without having to continuously hold down a single hotkey down, which really sucks when you're trying to micro.
I'll have to try this.

or you leave them on... no reason to ever turn them off

Sounds awesome ! the enemy part, because I just use alt for your my own/all units.

thats cool, but i dont see why you'd ever want them off in order to play at a high level, otherwise its just another thing to think about (and i dont need that :p)

Same solution for other "show HP-bars" options, like enemy HP or your HP only

I like them while macroing but the clutter makes it harder to micro imo.

Its in this time of need that we need people like this to bring us something special that we can all learn from and cherish for years to come, a gift in the form of a beautiful, necessary, well written thread that challenges the minds of all the readers and provokes new ideas and strategies that will change the game as we know it forever. For this, i salute you.

Couldn't you set it to caps lock and it just stays on until you press it again?

WarCraft 3 health-bars was better. SC2 HP-bars are really ugly and VERY big.
Also in SotiS (custom map) you can see very good small health-bars on units, that sent by Overmind/Protosses
Couldn't you set it to caps lock and it just stays on until you press it again? Can't. You need double-hotkey.

Turn them off and when you need them, hold alt.

Turn them off and when you need them, hold alt.
He will hold ALT, while he injecting, controling army, droning, making overlords, etc ?

Sorry if this sounds dumb, when you say rebind to two keys, you mean one bind plus the alternate bind? or is there a way to actually bind a command to two keys.
|
Holy shit, I can't wait to try this. Still Blizzard needs to make it a ONE button toggle, but this can help in some situations where you have a couple of seconds to prepare. Thank you so much!!!

bump, awesome thread. very useful.

Interesting.
I actually disdain Starcraft 2's HP bars. They're hideous but I don't feel right not using them because I know my opponents probably are.
