So 2-3 in placement and 18-6 total would get you considerably higher MMR than 0-5 in placement and 18-6 total. Note, however, that 24 matches are a really small sample size and unlikely (though very well possible) to get you promoted (or demoted) anywhere. The system accounts for winning and losing streaks. For example, on a couple different occasions I've had streaks of 10 matches won in a row without getting promoted any time soon. You can skip a league entirely. The system doesn't promote you until it's relatively certain of where you're supposed to be. (When you're winning and losing consistently against players of that level.) Ah rite. Although I placed into diamond on NA after going 5-0 this season and went something like 7-9 and got demoted into plat. wouldnve thought id have more of a shot to stay in diamond? clearly not.

It doesn't determine which league you get in, it's only there to prevent inactive players froum cluttering the ladder. In terms of you mmr, it doesn't change it more than any other game.

I went on a bronze smurf, I won 200 games in a row and got from bronze directly to Gold and then right to Diamond into Masters. You don't need to lose a game. Though it will take longer to rank if you only have pure wins.

Your MMR is not affected by this lock, only your ability to be promoted. The downside imo is that if you win alot of games, you will start facing much higher level opponents so that when promotions do come back it will most likely be much harder to be promoted due to the quality of players you are now facing. Personally I am just gonna wait so that I have a better shot at being promoted to master while facing the players at my level, rather than winning without the promotion and having to face upperclass master league players while trying to be promoted.

Surely with promotions being based on MMR it won't matter if you beat the people now vs. waiting till the fix. I really hope that if someone is supposed to be promoted based on their wins while pre-patch it will just promote them after their first win post-patch

If you're in Bronze and facing Master level opponents all the time since this started happening, you would go straight to Diamond or Master once it's fixed.

It means – according to your own findings – all the players that should be demoted/prmoted will have the exact same rating: 73+SeasonPool This is really a shame, because it's making the ratings even more meanlingless. I'm +250 above my seasonpool so when I'm promoting it's actually a big loss in rating.

You'll lose 177 points right after promotion, but if your MMR is still higher than your new rating then you'll just earn more points for each game than you were before your promotion.

your experiment must have made you regret since you can't play many even skilled players anymore until it is fixed. (that account must have been wasted when you could use it for training off race) at the same time, I am grateful for you telling me that, I have been playing a lot last week against many golds and won most of them but still no promotion.

If you have a 50-60% win ratio as TOP diamonds as a platinum, you are not in the right spot and will get promoted.
