One of the problem is that with the way they handle maps is that they are making good players move away from laderring, and then using ladder statistics to make decision about the ladder pool, it's a vicious circle :s . When I see that any top player can destroy the US ladder if he wants to, I really have a hard time taking it as "highest level of play". The only really competitive ladder seems to be the korean ladder, and there is obviously a problem with maps on this ladder ( top 10 was terrans not long ago). Maybe I'm wrong and they only take korean ladder into account, but I doubt it.

Other than that, great show last time, and thanks for uploading quicly on Itunes . Only bad thing was the background noise, and some echoing on incontrol mic but otherwise it was awesome! (even the calls were not "that" terrible)

I'm not sure whether these ideas are feasible, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

Would you be able to record questions pre-show and then replay the questions for the panel to answer during the show? (This would stop the "trolls", too.)

OR

Would you be able to take some calls pre-show, find out what they're going to ask and then get them on the line during the Q&A segment of the show? (You can't guarantee that they're not trolls, but that's not guaranteed in the current format.)

The what would be the point of the calls? The whole point is the potential for awful calls, and then... One day.... Some one inspired phones in, and doesn't ask a stupid question. When that day comes my friend, peace on Earth will emerge.

I thought the point of calls was to get the community more personally involved in the show, and I fail to see how these ideas invalidate that point.

If it becomes the EG show I'm done. Especially after all the controversy of the last few weeks.

It is already the EG show. It was EG's idea and they pitched it to Wheat. If you hate EG and incontrol so much, why watch in the first place?

I like how they say casual players dont care about map size. How the f... do they know that. They have never been casual sc2 players and probably aren't speaking to any casual players about maps.

I remember when I started playing sc2 i vetoed lost temple and metalopolis as they were 4 player maps, and i prefered a map like steppes as it was very simple.

Big fan of DJWheat , have been the since the very first weapon of choice, Painuser too. And, incidentally, where was the word HATE?? I simply put that a certain someone should grow up a little and stop with the "veiled threats" shit.

The point of the shows is also the live interaction. That way you can have people call in and ask with relevance to what's been said, react in any way.

It's probably really hard but you could try to ask them to reiterate the question (with the 3 gate DTs counter push question I had no problem understanding what the question is about but sometimes it happens that the hosts have to ask for a clarification) and if it's still something simplistic then send them to "RTFM" and don't even bother answering IMO.

Just watched the latest episode (as my first episode of this) and think that it's a good show. I was a casual FPS gamer (Quake/UT/Halo [pc]), but as life interfered I slowed my play time.

SC2 came along and reignited my love of online play. Through programs like this as well as State of the Game and Day[9]'s efforts, I've become more in tune to the gaming world and particularly the SC culture.

Thanks for the good work djWHEAT and keep it up! You're a fabulous caster and I love that this becomes a 'off with the kids gloves' sorta program to contrast your professional casting. :-)

Don't mean to sound like I'm flaming, but I've watched ITG for a while now and this seems to be the common pattern every show:

DJWheat and iNcontroL - insightful questions, well thought out answers, funny, pushing forward the conversation

IdrA - If a comment about other zerg doing well comes up, they only did well because the other guy sucked or the winning zerg employed a "gimmicky" tactic. Otherwise zerg is underpowered. Typically looks uninterested and like he doesn't want to be there.

PainUser - Agrees with almost everything DJWheat/iNcontroL says and lends little to the conversation.

I know that IdrA and, to a lesser extent, PainUser are fine players and know a lot about their race, but DJWheat should really look into getting more interesting personalities for the zerg and terran spots. Otherwise, he may as well just put the noodle girl for those spots because that's how much the other 2 are lending to the show IMO.

Really hate this opinion about the map pool. These panelists are completely out of touch...not with the pulse of TL... but with reality. Blizzard will reap the benefits of e-sports regardless of whether or not they help move it along. Its a matter of.. is it worth the probability of alienating even a minority of your players (people who like rush maps) to reap a minor benefit they could be receiving in exposure from success in e-sports. The best part is, as I said before, Blizzard reaps the benefits of e-sports regardless... why cater to a crowd that is dedicated to your product regardless of how "misshandled" they might think it is?

On top of all that, consider that this "pulse on the community" these progamers/casters have is funneled almost exclusively through TL. Hell a recent poll on here showed over 70% of the people browsing these forums were diamond or above... im not saying thats scientific... im saying the pulse they are reading is from generally higher level players. Again, why alienate a group you don't have to?

As for the maps themselves. You even have wheat citing Bel`Shir beach as an example of a map that would be good in the pool. Give me a fucking break.

Painuser had a really hard time understanding the questions this week and kind of just answered them wrong. He needs to be replaced as the Terran, period. ;x

Woah woah woah. I was not expecting this to be anywhere as good as it was. This is my new state of the game replacement. You have a player from each race and talk about the GAME, rather than do two hours of tournament announcements.

Also, more painuser. He isn't scared to go at it with Geoff, AND he's taller!

To idra's credit, he didn't look like he was interested or wanted to be there on his own damn show with artosis. I think that's just how he looks.

And painuser always agrees with DJW/geoff, because geoff just covers all the obvious important stuff that really matters first. Wheat just needs to mix up who he asks first more often.

I hope blizzard is paying attention, because pretty much everyone is in agreement that the new maps are garbage. Stop screwing around, give us some GSL maps like Dual Sight and Crevasse already.

InsideTheGame is much better than SotG now. Always thought Wheat was a better host too.

Edit: I take that back, they both have 1 or 2 top players

By the way I especially enjoyed this weeks show really fun to listen to while playing customs.
