Greg”Idra”Fields is always a heavy favorite in any tournament since the release of Starcraft 2 after taking the Razer King of the Beta taking Tester out in the finals.
For those who do not watch Idra he specializes in macro and relies on his mechanics to take him ahead in the game. From watching him in beta tournaments to the Sheth Show-match, I have not see another zerg who can control his army, make drops and having almost perfect injects as Greg.
Greg has always been a notorious for being a bad-ass, not sugar coating a word and saying what he thinks. Some may over-look this but this makes him a target in the tournament scene cause they don’t like him and Idra said something offensive about them.

Idra and the IPL
Game 1- Xel-Naga Caverns
In the first round vs Fnatic Fenix in the first round. Idra opened 15extractor 14 pool after realizing Fenix was trying to block his expansion. Fenix on the other hand went for a fast reaper into hellion per-igninter expand, then moving to some cloak banshee harass. By the time the hellions and the Cloaked banshee moved in Idra already hard Roaches and lings/banelings with speed. Even though the banshee did a lot of damage to his economy, making Idra go for the kill considering Fenix had a little to no units cause of the harass style opening. He took the game quite convincingly.

I hear banelings are good
Game 2- Shakuras Plateau
Fenix opened 2rax while Idra went for 15Hatch 14 pool. Fenix went for a bunker rush but Idra pulled 6 drones killing 4 marines, forcing a cancel on 2 bunkers and losing 1 drone. Fenix trys to push with 6 marines and 2 scvs with more marines rallied while expanding behind it. Idra see's the push coming and takes 12 slow lings and defends the push with minimal loses to his lings.![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/dV4kv.jpg)
Bunkers Bunkers Bunkers!
By 7:00 into the game Idra already has double his opponents workers. Idra continues droning while teching to Lair. At the 11:00 mark Fenix pushes with 4 hellions 12 marines but Mutas and banelings are out. Realizing this Fenix pulls back, but scouting Idra's third with a hellion. The After
then crushes threw Fenix's natural forceing a GG and Idra moves onto the next round.
Round 2
Idra's next opponent is ROOTDrewbie. Idra has had some “beef” with drewbie while destroying him on kulas ravine told him he is a failure and has no self-respect for playing Terran.![[image loading]](http://imgur.com/ZNNrX.jpg)

Idra opens up extractor before pool for quick speed lings, which was perfect for Drewbie having a 2nd rax hidden that he did not even use. Without even pushing out seeing Idra did not take his expanstion, Idra expands with a couple lings out and scouting drewbie in his natural with a barracks flying over his marines.

I can only imagine the grin on Idra's face
Though Drewbie did expand behind this and then heads into Infernal pre-igniter hellions and seeing 2 factory’s,

but Idra prepared already with roaches. With Drewbie trying to poke the drone line of idra but the Roach wall is their and prepared. Idra, pushes drewbies natural with roaches and banelings with speedling follow up and is just to much drewbies natural with 2 bunker and a siege tank. Game 2- The Shattered Temple
Drewbie opens 1rax FE, and idra going for 15hatch 14pool. Drewbie again to go for hellion harass but Idra defends it with just speed-lings and creep. With a Spire going down and idra droning up with not much harass from Drewbie, despite having a lot of hellions. With 7 hellions pushing the Mutalisks popping out just in time to scare away a lot of hellions before they could do any damage to the drone line.

Saving private drone
Drewbie is prepared for the Mutalisk with a good amount of thors out and missle turrents. Drewbie going for another mech buiild taking a quicker third then the normal terran. This allows idra to just drone and drone until he has around 15+ mutalisks to pick off a missile turrent and a thor in Drewbie's base. Idra see's the mech play Idra responds with heavy infestors with Neural parasite and teching to brood-lords. Drewbie starts pushing out while taking his 4th being his gold while Idra is taking his 5th base. Idra banking 5,000 minerals before pushing out mainly waiting for his blords to come out. Drewbie desperately trying to get ravens out for PDD but can not get a sufficient amount in time in time for idra taking control of half of his thors with his Infestors but Drewbie is forced to GG with 6 Brood-lords at his natural and no thors or viking to deal with he brood-lords.

They are mine now!
The Highlight of Drewbie in this game was the Planetary fortress with 180 kills of broodlings other then that it was a walk over for Idra.

Yeah something like Greg Fields morphs into the Gracken. or Greg Fields: Leading the Swarm to Victory. I'm still trying to think of them. You can always pm a mod or request someone to change the title for you.

Also, I'd say Greg "IdrA" Fields when talking about him personally or his winnings and IdrA when talking about his in-game skills. Bolding the headlines to each game might help it stand out a bit more, so you can see where you move onto the next game. Thanks for making this write-up and I'd love to see more games along with the original post you have.

I love idra, and the fact that he is dominating TvZ with muta/ling/bling/infestor even though mutas really went out of date a while ago. I also like how in the last round of the ign proleague he was able to make all of his mutas fly in different directions at almost one time just for kicks and giggles. This showed that his micro was on par with the likes of boxer lol love you greg

Maybe he just means we have been seeing some other strats lately that is not the usual ling/bling/muta fest that's been so popular against terran.

IdrA's "I don't play terran because i have self respect"
For some reason I remember that comment made quite a long time ago, back in 2010. Was this chat screenshot included in the ROOT.Drewbie game to add some more entertainment and flavor? Because I clearly remember this infamous chat log from the past. Did he just do this again?

Yeah, that quote was 5-6 months ago when terrans were quite OP but they all denied it. Thing like:
Reapers with fast speed
Barracks before depot
Tanks did a solid 50 on everything
BC did 48 damage per second (10 damage at .225)
Bunkers took 30 seconds to build (they take 40 now... I think)
Medivacs were faster
EMP killed ALL protoss energy instead of 100
IdrA has not really talked about terran since, and that matchup is considered by the community one of the best and most balanced now.

I would agree that the changes to terran did fix all the OP things they could do before in the past. However I do feel that the reaper is a bit overnerfed. IMO I think they should be just tweaked, and I agree that depot before rax is fair.
Personally I think reaper build time should be faster and the nitro packs back to require just tech lab, but scale their HP down to just 30 HP. They would be 2 shot by stalkers and 1 shot(?) by spines.
My vision of reapers are, very dangerous but murder on your APM to control if you care to keep them alive at all.

It's cool you're writing these but there are numerous typos and other errors (such as random capitalizations that aren't needed and some weird sentence structure) that detract from the reading experience. Still, thanks for the time spent putting this up!
