About 1 month ago Confine mouse to screen stopped working for me. This kills me. I have two monitors and make full use of them nearly at all times. Whether its just rainmeter telling me what time it is or so I can use the video function of Skype- I love my second monitor.
I've lost the ability to play starcraft and keep the 2nd enabled. Confine mouse no longer works permanently. It will work for a few minutes then without warning stop working. And sliding off screen instead of moving the screen right is about as disruptive a ultralisk drop.
I've tried all the settings in starcraft (other than just leaving it on Fullscreen/Not windowed mode). I've tried posting on battle.net looking for support. Now I'm asking here, is there any way to keep my mouse confined to starcraft without disabling the 2nd monitor or leaving it in fullscreen mode?
And while your at it tell me why my GTX 470 video card blows so loudly when I'm in starcraft menus and NOT while i'm in game ^^
Thank you for reading this.

I get this sometimes when i alt+tab too much.. Usually a couple alt+tabs fix it, but it never stops working for me half way through.. A very odd problem you have there.
Have you installed any new programs recently that may have caused it to happen? I know some chat/music programs could try to 'always be on top' so that starcraft is constantly sent to the background - doesn't confine you mouse.
Worse comes to worse, try restoring your pc to a time when it didn't happen .
Hope this helps.

Thanks man I'll try to sort through everything and see if something is set to be always on top. It would have to be a program running in the background coz this happens all the time, every time, no matter what is up.

It turns off for me randomly when I play. I just turn the setting off, apply settings, and turn on and it works again. Its annoying but my only fix. Does it turn off after an alttab or just in game while microing oO.

Actually Alt tab never screws with confine mouse. But once I alt tab and then remax SC it works again for a while.

I cant imagine not having a 2nd screen anymore, it's so awesome. Anyway, when I alt tab and tab back in the mouse is not confined but if I alt tab+click on sc2 it will confine it.

I've had a 2nd monitor since 2003 It unnerves me to see a black screen next to starcraft :O
Anyway

But it always happens at the wrong time and like I said, its like someone snuck up behind you. It disrupts my macro badly.

Will it happen in the middle of games? I've had a similar problem, and it always has to with some application. Osu, for example, if I've had it open recently, will often cause it at random. Didn't start until I got osu, never happens if I haven't opened it while SC2 is open, and always fixes if I close both osu and SC2 then open just SC2 again.
Also, for some reason, clicking on a non-SC2 window (such as the desktop of the other screen) sometime makes the mouse cursor pop back into SC2, now confined. Makes no sense, but whatever works.

When SC2 was first released there was a graphical bug that allowed infinity framerate on the menu screens and some people had graphics cards burn up from sitting on the menus too long. There was a fix that users could do by editing a config file or something to set max frames at 60 or w/e (which I did a while back). I thought they patched out the bug but it's something to look into :/
I (obviously) can't remember the details but a search would get you some answers pretty quickly.

Happens once in a while when I alt tab around. Just alt tab back a few times and it should be fine

When I play league of legends I use a program called Shiftwindow to emulate full screen on one monitor and the cursor doesnt glitch out when i move it to the sides. Perhaps this program could be of use to you?
If you wanted to use it you would set starcraft 2 into windowed mode then activate the program & set to emulate fullscreen and it should do the trick ^_^

I currently use this and I must say, it works a charm. It's got 5 utilities bundles together, one of which allows for dual-screen related custom hotkeys.
I've got it set up so that CTRL-F9 locks the mouse to the screen it is currently on, while CTRL-F10 unlocks again. Perhaps this'll help.
