Casting is miles better tonight! I think they did a great job taking community input on that aspect, at least. And there's music in the background now too.

Aim the lights in the studio in such a way so that your shadows aren't visible on camera. It's not a big thing, it's just annoying.

In general, the colour of the set is really.... bluuhhhhhhhhhhhh. Too dark!
When you are prepared, there's no such thing as pressure.

I dunno if its just me but the quality seems to be decreasing every cast. The first day was great but since then, it seems to have been on a downhill.

Gretorp is doing a great job of controlling the volume, and he's not fumbling over his words nearly as much as the last two days. Overall, I'd say he's made a massive improvement.

The constant music in the background seems pretty pointless to me.

Im sure this has been said alot of times but the 4p desert map and crossfires ramps just seem terrible for tournament.

Please fix your ad timing! Earlier you cut off the KawaiiRice interview to show an ad and now you played an ad during your discussion between game 1 and 2 of Nada vs Dde. I don't mind the ads, but they are really bothersome when it's cutting off content.

Also, is it just me or is anyone else's noise muted after an ad until you mute and unmute the sound?

Cast the games in the order that they will be broadcasted. Avoids spoiling the results of the next match on air...

The music is a step in the right direction, and having SC2 music playing is the right choice while a game is on-screen, but in-between games probably not the best choice. The GSL plays some K-pop or rock inbetween games, for good reason.

Not really an option due to needing to be lenient in scheduling.

I really agree, a broadcast of a prerecorded show should at least be edited for these types of things. I am sure NASL will improve on this. Hopefully editing in better transitions in between the matches will be done as well! I have to admit is kind of weird for one match to end and then 5s later we see the countdown for the next match.

They can't do their current format in any other way besides online; if you want the player pool that NASL has and the sheer number of games that they are producing - the whole thing has to be done online.

i didn't say the whole thing should be offline, infact i explicitly stated otherwise and used TSL3 as an example. i said if they're going to use the current format that this phase of the competition should be treated as online qualifiers and thus shouldn't receive much hype and therefore won't lead to disappointed people who were expecting more.

Why can't people see this as the build up, the storyline, the road to the finals!?
because it received an enormous amount of hype for what amounts to pre-recorded footage of games between two guys playing from their bedroom. there is no difference between what NASL is doing at this stage and the games casted by husky on his youtube channel.

They are bringing you TOP TIER GAMES from some of the BEST players in the world every.. single.. day.. of.. the.. week!?!?!

the problem is, they're not. there's so much filler in each of the groups that the majority of games aren't entertaining.

How are you not excited by that? "Oh it's not live, and the casting is prerecorded" - are you still watching iNcontrol vs Ensnare? Yes!

firstly, i'm not a psychologist, man. i guess you'll have to find one and ask them why people aren't as turned on at the prospect of watching something that isn't live despite them not knowing the result. secondly, yeah, i'm watching incontrol vs ensnare play... online. therefore i don't think it warrants much hype or much gravity being given to the result.

And then the proposal is to make everything low key; a $400,000 prize pool venture and you want the opening phase to be low key?

first, it's $400,000 over 4 seasons isn't it? let's remember that. preliminaries of other sports don't receive much attention and i'm proposing the same thing happens here. cast them, sure. the games are there if you want to see them, but the majority of them are going to be lacklustre affairs so i don't think it should garner much attention.

virtually all the hype should be directed to the offline finals. a one or two day event, i don't know which it is. in the same vain as the dreamhack invitational just past. i think it should be "right, we've assembled these 8/16/whatever players via a series of online qualifiers, watch these badasses battle offline and take home a gorrilian dollars."

logistics are a bitch, i get that. there has to be an online element to try and achieve the type of tournament they're after. i'm saying don't hype it to fuck, the studio is pointless at this stage, and hopefully the qualification process is forgiving enough that despite latency the top koreans make it through.

I understand your point about the hype; i think iNc was directing the hype at the entire concept. The bigger picture is worth all that hype but people are getting bogged down on the day-to-day occurences such as particular match ups and Gretorp casting. The idea of NASL, with the prize pool and a guaranteed 3 seasons is pretty damn incredible and the hype i believe is worth that sort of sizeable concept.

The GSL Season 1 had a ton of terrible players, all the way through until recently where the best have been filtered through. It is bound to be this way with every tournament but as time goes on, the best will remain and the "filler" you refer to will fade away. Also, all of these "fillers" are capable of providing great games, and can challenge the best; at least there is potential for good games there.

I also find it a bit strange you don't see it different from Husky casting his random games on his youtube channel; you're watching a tournament unfold - not some random replay pack Husky stumbled upon. Just my opinion of course like i said i completely understand where you are coming from i just think people (not you specifically) need to give NASL some time to develop. They have been incredibly active in regards to managing the tournament; basing a lot of their decisions off community feedback. It has the potential

Well said and I completely agree. They have tons of room for improvement, but you have to give them some leeway because they're tackling a lot of new territory here with the games being online + casted in a studio + games every day which is pretty unique compared to other events so issues are bound to crop up. Even GSL doesn't have the same problem because they don't have to deal with online players who may or may not show up.

We're already seeing great improvements and it's only been 3 days. The 2nd day of leeway will be awesome for making things smoother and they've already made improvements like including music (which they literally did as fast as possible since day 2 was recorded before day 1 went out).

To be fair I think their editing deadlines are pretty strict. They probably get the games all played and casted by fairly late in the afternoon then they need to get what editing done they can then get it all encoded and ready to stream by the following day while also recording the games of the next day at some point. So it's not that surprising that a few things slip through the cracks, but they should be better about the order and spoilers if they can.

I honestly don't understand all the rage about the casting. Incontrol and Gretorp have their flaws, but they're miles better than Tastosis was during their first season of casting the GSL. Remember how they constantly missed the action and how Tasteless contributed almost nothing for that entire first season? Even now, they're still making endless bad jokes. Incontrol and Gretorp have a lot to improve on, but they are a LOT better than people give them credit for.

I see the complete opposite, it's really well done tonight except for an editing fail that I shall not mention in detail here.

It's pretty obvious that they're listening to our feedback, inControl just apologized for screaming on the stream. =P

Oh, and they're playing music today. I do like it better.
