Please stop with the non-stop music over everything. It gets really old after the entire night of it.

Shouldn't the most important changes be done first? Subtleties afterwards?

1. Keep testing out quite a few casters, but eventually settle on a small group. If it is InControl and Gretorp then keep them casting, but I really wish Gretorp would stop sounding fake. Describing every game as the most epic you have ever seen gets tiresome to listen to.

2. Change the vod format to a format similar to the GSL. Attempt to spoil NOTHING if at all possible.

3. Get rid of the "subscription" part of the NASL. Perhaps allow people to check that as an option after they have signed up, but for a tournament that only has 3(i think) tournaments lined up I will take it for what it is. A way to sucker people into paying for an extra tournament. If perhaps you had as many tournaments as the GSL throughout a year that would be an acceptable automated option.

4. Why is there a 5 minute break in the middle of a prerecorded stream? EDIT: Seems like that might be gone? Cool!

5. Perhaps an observer, but I do think people are being a bit hard. Tasteless had it DOWN when he was doing it towards the end, it takes time to prefect observing.

6. When Gretorp is (imo) forcing excitement he gets too loud I do believe there are headphones that will limit, but not totally eliminate the volume increase. It really isn't too big of a deal.

7. Quality choice on VODs. For some reason on justin.tv it takes FOREVER to buffer VODs I'm not even using 1/4 of my bandwidth. I'd rather watch what I want in LQ than buffer for 20-30 minutes to be sure the video won't catch up. And if the eventual format is to have the videos highly split then it would be even more of a pain.

Those all seem most important than X person said the lighting was too bright. That probably means their monitor was too bright right? I mean it isn't a different stream from mine? Or perhaps mine is too low

...Seriously 3D Portraits?

---------On the whole good job NASL. Still like the casting very informative. You choose a good group of players. I need to catch up on some matches, but from what I've been able to watch (around 85%) you guys have been doing very well. Hope those backing NASL can keep this going forever. <3 "foreigners"

I for one am appalled by the lack of professionalism shown by iNControl and Gretorp

Can you imagine Korean GSL casters yelling during a GSL cast "HEY JINRO/HUK! WELCOME TO KOREA! LOSIRA IS YOUR HOST!" as banelings were obliterating them?

Because that's the kind of commentating I saw from iNControl on Axslav/Squirtle.

I would appreciate if casters did not celebrate the loss of any player, Korean or otherwise. Professional disinterest is possible in SC2 commentating; I wish that the casters would exercise some. That being said, I otherwise enjoy iNControl's commentary otherwise, particularly with his articulate explanations of the nuances of Protoss play.

You seriously can't please everyone. No music was the #1 complaint in both the LR threads and this thread.

Yeah it's terrible. I hope they realize this and after the obvious flaws(volume controls) they don't take what the community says to heart.

Edit* I wanted to add that I feel like the community feels like they're making a big influence on NASL's production/execution because of how closely it's seemingly tied with TL(ex. incontrol) so they feel encouraged to express their criticism/opinions more so than something like say, GSL. I'm just hoping this blows over within a week and nasl will be respected by the majority of the community(can't please everyone!) like the tsl because they will be of the same production quality or better (=

So there are just a few simple things that I think they can change that would improve this greatly. mind you, I am not complaining, I think that overall they are doing a great job and I believe that it will only get better over time.
1. Pre-game can be limited to just a few minutes, go over the day's map pool, go over the results from the day before as well, and go over the group standing quickly.
2. Take a 5 minute break between matches. The Nada v DDE match was amazing and long. Afterward I had to use the restroom and refill the soda. In turn, I missed a good chunk of the next game.
EDIT: 3. Also, take a few minutes after all the matches to go over the day and give a quick blurb about tomorrow's matches.

Also, when editing everything together, there are obvious bad cuts jumping into games or between matches. It is not natural looking or sounding. Just a bit of clean-up there and it will play much more smoothly.

Over than that, I do not have too many complaints. Yeah, there were some problems with scheduling, spoilers, and whatnot, but this is a huge new things and there are bound to be problems. I am not worrying too much about the player bias and excitement. It does not really bother me because they are even fair about cheering for just outstanding play. I am a little bothered about a caster being a player as well. I mean, it is not horrible and there is really no "insider knowledge" that he can gain from being a caster as well, but I just don't like it in that I like to see the players focus on playing and the casters focus on casting.

GG guys and keep improving!

Not a cast advice but get some corporate sponsorships. During the cast have Incontrol eat a giant plate of Olive Garden™ pasta or pan to Gretorp sipping a cup of Starbucks Coffee™.

Ummm... You need to brush up on the GSL matches. They used to say quite a few people were terrible quite often. This is nothing new. If you play like crap then instead of hyping someone's mundane victory you should point out flaws. In sports this is rather big because you must analyze both sides for now it only influence if I want to watch X player because he is good in the future it influences betting.

in-game and pre-game/post-game music should be different. starcraft music makes sense for in-game but when it continues into the post-game chat there's too much continuity, as if the game was just paused or something? i think that's what some above posters were commenting about

it'd be nice if you had a semi-professional zerg player to cast zerg games. the knowledge that inc/gretorp bring to the table is very evident during the P/T matchups but less so during the zerg games. this isn't to say you can't be engaging/entertaining commentators - it's pretty good on that front, but the cast is more interesting when you can bring in more strategic insight. either that or y'all should switch to random on the ladder =D

For all the hate, Gretorp has been (at least in my opinion) improving on a day-by-day basis. Think a lot of it is just him being a bit uncomfortable and falling back on certain terminology repeatedly, but there were only a few moments that felt forced tonight.

Again, just my opinion, but keep up the work, appreciate most of the changes that have been made so far. For the most part things seem to be trending upward, just a matter of continuing to iron things out.

Its NOT hate ... its criticism. That isnt the same thing.

This is absolutely non-responsive.

Tastosis never celebrate the losses of individual players because of their nationality.

I don't mind if iNControl and Gretorp offer analysis, but celebrating the loss of players, and Koreans exclusively (I didn't hear any "WHAT UP QXC, WELCOME TO NASL, MOMAN HAS YOUR NUMBER") is both unprofessional and a double-standard against Korean players. Certainly Tasteless and Artosis razz on bad players at times, e.g. BitByBit or pre-GSL4 SanZenith, but that is exclusively because of their bad play-- not because they're Korean.

I have no problem with criticizing play, but "WELCOME TO NASL, SQUIRTLE! AXSLAV IS YO HOST" is not analysis. It's not commentary. It's just anti-Korean and anti-player bias, and it should stop. You can be enthusiastic without being biased.

NFL commentators will often say "OOH, BIG HIT!" or "HE GOES ALL THE WAYYY!" but you'll never hear the Monday Night Football crew saying in a 49ers/Giants game "LOL SAN FRANCISCO LOSES! WELCOME TO THE EAST COAST!"

Have you ever watched Artosis cast a game with BitByBit? Or Day9 cast one involving Dario?

Edit: Artosis and BitByBit is the worst because it's almost entirely personal, since BitByBit beat him in at least one tournament.

The criticism was rooted in BitByBit's all-ins, and the criticism of TLO was a) friendly b) not on an internationally streamed event c) again, focused on TLO's macro/scrolling-- his play.

No one was saying Squirtle's play was bad in that game. They were just saying he was Korean.

Interesting view. Not a terrible point ESPECIALLY because of the lag issue. I did not fully get your OP, so I concede that yes making fun of anyone because of nationality and in fact making a point about nationality is generally in poor taste.

Ah, then my apologies if I wasn't clear. I love iNc otherwise, hence why this particularly rankles me; it really sticks out from otherwise solid commentating.

I'm still skeptical. Artosis glories in BBB's losses, it's ridiculous. All-ins were the best way to play in the early GSLs. And I'm talking about Day's pro-TLO's bias in tournaments, not hating on him. Sorry that didn't come through.

I think that's one way to interpret it. The other way was iNc being amazed at Axslav's great play with a fairly rare unit comp in PvP. If you interpret it as being anti-Korean...those are your perceptions, and I can see how it would come across that way.
