Next to the full screen icon, there should be a text saying "best" or something. You click that, and instead of best you choose a lower quality. I think 240p is the lowest. But you can choose between like 4 or 5 different levels. I believe Dtrain was talking about specifically the VODs and not the live broadcast. I also would like lower quality VODs as to not kill my internet at work....

1) Commentators: Allow for IdrA/day9 to guest commentate (or more often in IdrA's case - give the ppl what they want). Gretorp and InControl have a poor tendency to lose focus during match (and not in funny Tasteosis way) and also do a bit too much of mockery imho. InControl is a SC2 baller and yet he doesn’t go into enough detail with his comments as to WHY something is good/bad, only that it is as such. Treat us like idiots (please) and baby us ad nauseum so that no details go unnoticed. 2) Let me sign in when I arrive to site! (This really bothers me so I am listing it twice.)Currently, I have to go to vods first before it painstakingly asks me to sign up for HD ticket - every freakin time, and then I can sign in. 3) Interface management: -Music/Sound Improvement (for starters, play terran music whenever possible), but adjusting the in-game sounds to the commentators is important. Isn't there a music sponsor for NASL?! -Provide overlays based on relevant discussion of match (e.g.- when talking of failed 4 gate, open -technology resource spending tab, or worker tab, or resources lost tab) -Stats, stats, more stats - take the stats like those from GSL (which are way too in-your-face imho) such as stats specific to race, map, last 10 W/L record, etc, and scale them down so they won’t give you an aneurysm upon seeing them but are still useful/helpful. Use these before the matches. Currently, I know very little of most of these players, please change that (yes, I know there are bios)! 4) Make players look reasonably professional in interviews (you can have your own style without looking like bum who hasn't left room in months (sorry Sheth, I love you but the raggy white tee-shirt look, surrounded by white walls in a dark room makes me scared for you - and clearly InControl agrees...). More to the point - I was under the impression that these players are on teams. Teams should provide their players with something more appropriate to play in. All GSL players look like they were ready to be on TV... 5) Organize and define NASL content better: -Why can't I sign in when I go to NASL.tv? Currently I have to sign in by accessing the vod content. That’s like waaaay unnecessary; you guys (at NASL) are smarter than that. -What is difference between 'featured' and 'matchups' tab under videos for instance? Think of what the benefit is of organizing it that way if you might be just cluttering the website and confusing people. Additionally, why not split up the match vods by each set as opposed to one video which has to buffer 6 times before it can be played through. -The structure of the league itself (in terms of reg season and playoffs) also isn't very well-defined and no information is provided concerning this on the FAQ page... (what is code A and code B, again..?) Furthermore the 'About NASL' link is totally worthless btw. Anyways, I appreciate the opportunity to help make NASL better! I really enjoy it and hope it succeeds and grows with time; however, I truly believe in order to grow these few issues need to be ironed out first.

I know these guys are gamers and aren't exactly rolling in the dough, but at least try and fool me into thinking that they are not just your stereotypical gamers. It looks like Moman was in a closet, there were old boxes and a teddy bear stacked behind him and he was trying to close the door. Give them some notice if they're going to be interviewed and let them know that there is expectations for their appearance, we need to be able to look up to these guys on some level, not say '' so to be good at Starcraft I have to drop out of college, quit my job and move back in with my parents ''.

I am not accusing anyone of any wrongdoing. But when there is money involved, people will be tempted to cheat. Professionals have been caught cheating in all sports, including Broodwar. With the players, spectators & NASL at different locations, there is no way to prevent a spectator from feeding a player information about the game in progress. (They could even be talking on Skype.) It's doesn't matter if you trust these people. People have cheated their close friends and family. With $400,000 on the line, it is important to avoid any appearance of impropriety. ---------- Also related, some clarity on playoff tiebreakers would be nice. The top two from each division automatically qualify for the playoff bracket. What happens if two players have the same W/L? Say Fenix and Morrow both end of 7-2, tied for second place. Fenix has 7 points to 6 for Morrow, but Morrow beat Fenix head-to-head. Publish the tiebreaker procedure in advance to prevent claims of bias..

Also, how about instead of kicking off the show with a "classic" NASL game doing a sports-entertainment-esque recap of the past day's / week's games?

It's improved a lot lately, though. Same. But for me it's not improving. Each time I want to watch nasl, I have to reload the stream like 10 times, while juggling between 240/360 and 480p until I'm connected to a good server (I guess). Even with that, each time a battle or some action starts the stream goes in slideshow mode, with good audio but I only see the keyframes (I guess again, I have one image each like 3 seconds). This is the only JTV stream that act like that for me, currently I'm watching idra+Sagacity invitational+Tyler streams, all justintv in best mode with zero problem. I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the way nasl encode their videos.

Have a betting section similar to liquidbet and during the cast you guys can reference who people feel the favourite is and agree/disagree. As an incentive for people to sign up the person who gets the highest score at the end of the season gets a HD pass. Loving the NASL so far judging at the size of this thread i'm not sure you hear that enough. Keep up the good work!

This is a pretty cool idea, something to think about for season 2 for sure imo.

There's barely time to read the first line, and then it vanished.... On May 19 2011 12:46 AKspartan wrote: Going subscribers only chat cuts into your viewer count. Only slightly, but be aware of it. I think it's a bad decision. i disagree, sub-only chat removes SO MUCH of the horrible chat-spam that makes the chat 100% worthless, essentially making it a "must-hide" feature sub-only chat is awesome, even for us non-subscribers!
