It's been stated many times that it's not casted from replays. The games are recorded and being cast live. We are streamed the resulting video after it has been touched up.
Why does it matter if they play right when you're watching them or if they played a week ago?

Let's put it this way:
If you are in a financial state that forces you to heavily weigh dropping $25 on a service like NASL...then don't do it.
If you love e-sports and you CAN spend $25, I don't see why not. I didn't even think twice about it...no point in being anal about spending as much money for an entire season's worth of content as I do whenever I take my girlfriend out to dinner on a Friday or something...all this arguing seems rather pointless to me.

I don't mind paying money for entertainment; because that's pretty much what we get. Production value with great players and casting. Kind of like paying for cable television.
But if I can't look at replays and improve my game based on them, then I don't feel it's worth my money to support the league.
The community has always been about helping people out and making everyone better in an effort to make the scene as competitive as it should be.
Current replay sites don't charge for replays, at the very LEAST, the replays should be accessible if you pay for the ticket. You don't get the replays for GSL either. It's so that somebody else just won't cast it themselves, put it on Youtube and everyone flocks to go see that instead of watching it through NASL. This isn't greedy, it's just business.
But if someone else casts the game on youtube, you're not going to get the production value that NASL has the resources to provide. That's one of the huge things that NASL as made strides to accomplish. That's exactly what you're paying for.
At least that's always how I've seen where my money was going. I'm paying to see an amazing broadcast of some great players. And I just don't think someone on youtube could cast with the same quality.

Edit: in the e-mail i got it says i was charged $20 so i got the $5 discount, so presalenasl code still works =)
Same thing happened to me, so I did end up getting the discount. It just doesn't display correctly on the justin.tv page.
Also looks like the full NASL site is finally up so yay to that

I didn't get the discount I've emailed justin.tv and they have horrible customer service. Still haven't replied to me yet and it's been a week.

I don't agree with people counting "hours of content" and saying that justifies the price. So it's going to be 15,000 hours of content, which makes it a fraction of a penny per hour. But I'm not paying for hours wasted. I don't need NASL vods to waste my *time*, I'm plenty good at wasting time on my own. I want *quality* of content. Many of the people who are hesitant to pay $25 (myself included) don't want to pay, because we are unsure if the quality of the content is worth the price.
In my opinion, GSTL is way more worth the price than GSL despite the number of hours per dollar being less, because the format is entertaining. You actually see people who are *currently* the best players (as they are chosen by coaches minutes before the game, not through a 3-month long process of qualifications) playing matchups they were chosen to play because they are good at that particular matchup. Plus you can feel how important every game is, whereas in GSL, a lot ofthe games have no real consequence.
NASL pushes this issue even further. It's a full round-robin of FIFTY players. There are going to be games with players you don't care about and which are going to have little-to-no consequence toward the results of the league. To me, watching this is seems more like a waste of time than like something I should be paying for. And all the extra hours of analysis, we have no idea how good it's going to be. Are there game clips involved with telestration? Balance whines? Humor? This stuff is quite likely to be something that most people don't value enough to even watch, let alone pay for. So even though the league lasts 15 (or however-many) times longer than a GSTL, I highly doubt that it's going to be 5 times as *good*.
That doesn't mean it's not worth it, but it's not automatic. (On the other hand, if you told me there would be 5 straight GSTLs over the next 3 months, I would buy that instantly.) Will I eventually buy the NASL ticket? Maybe. After all, I have these forums to recommend which games are good, and if there are enough of them that I want to watch, but not enough to make it worth sitting through the live broadcast, then I might decide that it's worth $25. But in no way is my throwing $25 a no-brainer.

Check your bank statement, for me it showed only $20 even though the site said 25 was charged

How about we trade minimal with quite a lot and make it free! That's how TV is. TV seems to be working.

Can anyone confirm?
Bought mine today too and I'm wondering the same thing.
I'm also wondering if we can view the games live somewhere or not. I mean is this internet-only thing or is it like GSL with live audience?! I'd go watch games at least once a week if there was a venue... but then again I don't know how many other people would go... I can bring friends but none of them really play SC2 xD
But seriously, maybe at least Quarter Finals - Finals ~ GSL style!??!?!
If anyone has any info about this whole thing plz let me know ^^

You idiots saying things like "$25 is nothing" and "support e-sports" are astonishingly short-sighted. The only thing that should matter is ease of access.
No free VODs significantly decreases the ability of NASL to attract people to the starcraft community, and is therefore bad for both esports and NASL's long-run business. If the institution's solvency is dependent on the marginal increase in ticket sales generated by exclusive VODs then it is doomed to financial failure anyway. Ergo, the current pricing scheme is utterly irrational.

I don't want to pay $25 for a billion hours of content, hell I barely have time to watch 5 hours of content in a week. Also, I'm not a fan of the fact that there will be no free vods, how am I supposed to get other people excited and interested if they can't even check out the good matches? I'm certainly not going to watch two hours of games casted live every day, I don't have time for that plus a LOT of the matches just won't interest me... it's all about the vods and the casting as far as I'm concerned. The quality of casting isn't known so we'll see about that. I also am not a fan of the fact that games aren't live but I guess it's a logistical issue since it won't be taking place in a studio (which also makes me question what the vibe of the casts will be like).
I really don't see this taking off with a $100/year subscription fee. IMO, subscription fees are a HUGE roadblock. I already pay fees for my entertainment via internet and cable. I have a PS3 instead of an Xbox because I think it's insane to pay a fee to use their online service. I played Guild Wars for a couple months instead of WoW because again, paying that fee is just insane to me, I don't want to feel like I MUST play or I won't be getting my money's worth. Many people pay for Netflix and lots of people here pay for GSL. I can't personally justify paying for ANOTHER subscription just for Starcraft games, and people who aren't familiar with esports won't even consider it. They don't pay fees for each sports league they follow. I just can't wrap my head around the whole concept, I suppose it works for now but there's got to be some progress in the future. The fee based model just won't work in the long run and I don't feel that adding my money to the pot is productive or intelligent, in fact it will only serve to bolster the model I disagree with.
It sucks too, because I really like watching pro level sc2 games.

You think it's bad business for NASL to make money selling the content they are making?
They are offering a free stream for everyone, during peak hours (for most) for a whopping 0$. Those who want access to aHQ stream with no commercial interruptions and VODs have the option to pay for those features.
How is this bad for esports and business?
Edit : Ergo... Vis a Vis.... Concordently

This just occurred to me, since the games will be casted by replay, you can just look up the player's match history or go onto sc2ranks.com and see if they won or lost. It maybe too great of a temptation to avoid .

At the very least read the FAQ http://nasl.tv/About/Faq before making assumptions

It's bad because unless you know the NASL schedule and are able to sit at a computer at that time, you can't see the matches AT ALL without paying a fairly significant fee. It will make it difficult to gain viewers.
The youtube vod sets are a pretty good idea, at least.

The games are actually casted live and recorded, not from replays. But I guess the concern of the player record still exists as it can be seen. Hopefully no one will post unnecessary spoilers.
