No free VODs significantly decreases the ability of NASL to attract people to the starcraft community, and is therefore bad for both esports and NASL's long-run business. If the institution's solvency is dependent on the marginal increase in ticket sales generated by exclusive VODs then it is doomed to financial failure anyway. Ergo, the current pricing scheme is utterly irrational. There are free VODs. One best of 3 from each day (that's 1/5 of the days content) is released and commentated by their lineup of youtube commentators. There will also be a free daily VoD hosted by our line-up of Youtube commentators on their respective channels. Our youtube lineup includes Artosis, HD, Husky and TotalBiscuit. Khaldor will also be providing German language content. They will each get a division and commentate one best-of-three series per week. People really need to read the FAQ before posting http://nasl.tv/About/Faq I didn't actually know about this free VOD thing before today, and I commend NASL for doing so (1 full BO3 is better than the first game of a series from GOM in my opinion)

I mean the TL ppl in here arent 100% sure what it is (my impression ofc)....then what does the "casual" sc2 fan know...probably nothing....This is usually a big sign that the event isnt being run properly and the production may be bad (im not sayin that it is, its just my impression at first hand). But if the broadcast and commentary is good I will gladly pay. I hope its a good event. there's been plenty of information out there. people just don't bother to read it.

You've probably chanced more on a meal at a chain restaurant and these guys are offering months of entertainment. Seems like plenty of people trumpet their support of eSports but when it's time to get the wallet out and show you mean business, there's a lot of hesitation. It is worth the small price and risk. Well they have my cash. So because 25 dollars is not a lot of money, you might as well buy every product that costs $25 or under? Shelling out money for this league isn't "supporting esports." That's a marketing scheme to get you to feel good about the money you spend.

I can't even read E-Sports with a straight face anymore. Chill changed it for me in that one Weapon of Choice episode where he ranted about "for eeeeeeesports". Now everytime I see E-sports I read it as eeeeeeesports and everyone just seems like they are trolling ![]()

2. dump as I am I bought GSL season 2 and hoped they fixed the issues as promised - ended up like in season 1 3. never bought a GSL ticket again and never will 4. was a second away from buying MLG Dallas HQ Pass - remembered GSL - didn't do it- thanked god! 5. will never ever buy a ticket for any event again without waiting at least for season 2 and buy it then when season 1 runs smoothly

I can't think of any reason why they would organize the tournament like this other than that they are looking to take money from current fans rather than increase the size of the following. With no (legitimate) free VOD's, how is anyone going to get interested in the game? Unless djWheat and Day[9] start evangelizing around the country this seems like either short sightedness on organizers part, or a calculated attempt to make money in the few years or seasons the tournament will last before it's own terrible design causes it to lose funding. And if you think i'm being paranoid or whatever look at the blatant incompetency in the streaming from MLG Dallas and the fewer but still respectable number of problems the GSL had. They both promised pretty much the same thing and used the "premium tickets" model and there are a lot of people that want their money back. Not only that but i'm disgusted about the marketing the tournament organizers are using to try to get the fans to pay money for this "It's supporting e-sports." Like Hot_Bid said that's a load of bullcrap.

These huge tournaments should depend on sponsors, not the 10% of their fans they can get to pay for HD streams. Everyone will watch in SQ and most of the games will end up on YouTube. Not only is it a model that doesn't give much respect to the fans that propelled sc2 into fame but it doesn't seem very sustainable because only 1 guy has to mirror the HQ stream to lose them a ton of money. I will say that the people whatching the mirror strea,m are the ones that wouldn't by the ticket, so no problems for them. Also I think that it is fair the ask for something in return for vods and HQ stream. There will allways be the LQ stream. Also see this as going to a stadium to see a game, you also have to pay a ticket. Although saying that, 25/20 in one go is a bit to much, if they sold 10 dollars month tickets I could try to buy some of them if not all of them.
