I'm not 100% sold on the removal of the 5 player team cap. Of course I want to see all the best players in this league but it did remind me of the salary cap on NFL teams. Sorta preventing 1 team from getting all the good players and dominating. I guess this is more like the Pro Bowl since its not a team league but I still don't want to see the Playoffs stacked with members from TL or any other team for that matter. I would like to see members from at least 6-7 different teams make the playoff.

Enjoy!!~

Note:
  • We have removed the "5 players per team" cap.
  • There was never, and was never planned to be: a cap on Korean participation, all Korean applicants will be judged the same as everyone else

Update OP to show you removed the 5 players per team cap? And thanks for showing flexibility on that issue!

If gamers didn't get any notification regarding the NASL participation, meaning no direct contact before, does he need to film himself answering all the questions for the video?

I am just a little confused whether the video is required only for players who you reached in Feb.

Otherwise all types of applicants have to make the kind of a video?

Your answer would be greatly appreciated.

So much for "the best players in the world" advertisement... no korean players = no competition.

Why the passive attitude towards the koreans? if you didn't want them to compete in nasl you should have said it from day 1. You should haver said "North american-only" instead of eluding the korean issue.

Will replays be made available at some point? I think NASL taking a pro-replay stance in contrast to Korea's markedly anti-replay stance would be a great point of separation.

I feel that if one's concern is with the game becoming the best possible, allowing free access to replays at some point before the grand final, will encourage and demand the utmost preparation and dedication.

I could not find an answer to this question in the OP.

Why not? There's little reason to give them any special treatment and it's an online tournament until RO16 so they are free to participate if the schedule permits. No koreans equalling no competition appears a rather curious assertion.

e: actually I've no idea why I bothered to reply as it's quite clear it's fruitless

I didn't talk about any special treatment, don't put word in my mouth please. But come on... I wasn't born yesterday, it's easy to see what the nasl plans are. I'm just saying that, as a spectator, the most interesting tournaments are the most competitive ones.

Take a look at the TSL (btw it's an online tournament just like nasl so the comparison is fair in my opinion): TSL staff went ahead and included korean players. The consequences? higher competition than ever as well as extreme potential drama. This is what the people want.

I'm not interested in paying to watch a tournament involving a bunch of 3k masters semi-pros and a handful of pros. Especially if it's prerecorded & online games.

They don't need to be invited to participate in NASL and that would be special treatment. Regardless, you aren't in the target audience then. MLG functions quite like NASL does and is very successful. The reason why there aren't more pros playing full-time in west is because it's just not feasible and having tournaments like NASL is a requirement to make that happen. Koreans dominating the tournaments would be counterproductive.

Every single player in the league needs to make the video.

Thanks for the answers and removing the 5 player cap! You are already doing a better job than Blizzard when it comes to community feedback.

I have to mirror Xeris and ask what are you talking about?
If koreans apply they can play. It was never said otherwise. They will just need to deal with the lag (more of a blizzard problem) or move to USA (same as foreigners need to do to play in GSL).

Xeris,

Last week, Geoff and Russ mentioned a possible meet and greet out in Rancho. Is this still in the works?

Thanks.

Wow this is fantastic!
I've been so impressed with the NASL team, responding to feedback, not being afraid to admit faults. With this I can't really see anything more to complain about! Thank you so much!

What will be the general standards for personal conduct, if any? Additionally, what will be the standards for the production (e.g. a caster such as inControl swearing during a cast or an audience member holding up a sexually suggestive sign). I'm merely curious and I imagine it'll be somewhat more lax than GSL, although Kpop is rather suggestive.

Oh, I'm not a prude, but I do feel that a certain standard should be upheld if e-sports wants to grow, if we want to convince a skeptic that it isn't "dirty" or whatever.
