I know he tries and all that, but he mispeaks and stutters too much to be a caster for such a professional event. There are many more qualified casters available that would do a much better job casting this event. I'd much rather incontrol solo it than listen to Gretorps casting. I think if you're trying to sell your product to the community you need to find someone better than a Gretorp to be co casting. Well if we're trying to be like the GSL... =P Question: Is Destiny even on a team? Is he available to fly to the finals? He may be #5 on the list right now but may not even be able to play at all.

If any of you knew anything about starting up a business then the initial investment of 400,000 dollars, or whatever it is(i dont know the specifics), is not meant to be made back instantly or even the first year. I assume that they plan to make that money back over a long period of time. The most important part is the everyday costs of running this league. Through sponsorships,ad revenues, and subscribers or however else they make revenue they should be making a profit which is the only thing that matters. At first they prob wont be but in time they will turn a profit hopefully : ) If comparing it to the gsl the prizepool is all sponsorship money and ad/subscribers goes straight to gom. Sounds like Blizzard is providing insurance so I'm not too worried for them yet .

So that they're closer for the event in Cali that happens three times a year? I'm all for team houses, but a mostly online tournament doesn't really propel them being established.

Not that that is me though

By the way, I'm sure it's explained somewhere, but who is sponsoring this? 400,000$ is an assload of money.

He may be #5 on the list right now but may not even be able to play at all. These votes are just recommendations from us, the community for the organisers to look at. They'll go "huh, look at that, this Destiny guy seems pretty popular - let's see if he satisfies our standards and belongs to the 50 best applicants". Then they'll see that he's - not on a team - has no tournament wins - has had no significant presence at any LAN whatsoever - is not even in the Top 100 of his server Then they'll all have a hearty laugh and look at the guy with the next most votes. Fairly certain someone like Destiny (or Husky, or HD, or any other scene personality) could be ahead by 10,000 votes and wouldn't get invited.

Day9 would be great to have as a consistent caster, plus he's right there in LA

Also, the limit on the number from each team seems questionable. I'm all for one team not dominating, but if this really becomes big you're basically capping the number of good players a western team will be able to recruit, since every player would want a guarantee the team will give them one of their limited spots in the tournament. What about Korean players. They're allowed, but there are none initially in the poll? They're somewhat limited? If so, who counts as Korean? Based on citizenship? residency? These seem like important details to have worked out, especially when you expect people to be voting on who should be in it without knowing for sure who is eligible.

Well, a teamhouse is not just convenient for going to local lans but also is good for training purposes. That's one of the biggest reasons everyone says for the skill disparity. They live in a SC environment 24/7 in a team house, they train harder, think more, and get better quicker because of it.
