Well, a teamhouse is not just convenient for going to local lans but also is good for training purposes. That's one of the biggest reasons everyone says for the skill disparity. They live in a SC environment 24/7 in a team house, they train harder, think more, and get better quicker because of it.



Hence why I said I'm all for team houses...

I disagree. from that interview it felt like theres been a ton of planning, but the difficulty that lies ahead is the execution of these plans. Tonights show match was kind of like a test run. I'm sure they'll be improve significantly, but I do not doubt there will be issues ahead.

as for the sponsor, it seems like its been funded by russ and duncan themselves. also read a post that said something about being insured by blizzard. i'd like to hear more about this myself.

- has had no significant presence at any LAN whatsoever
- is not even in the Top 100 of his server

Then they'll all have a hearty laugh and look at the guy with the next most votes. Fairly certain someone like Destiny (or Husky, or HD, or any other scene personality) could be ahead by 10,000 votes and wouldn't get invited.

I don't really understand why Day9 wouldn't be a featured caster in this. I'm actually entirely confused to the point where my brain is about to stop working.
He lives in Cali
He is The biggest Scene contributor
Casted at MULTIPLE sc Events
Has a brother who casts Professionally in Korea
Taking a year off to focus entirely on SC.. <--- or longer? unsure
So my question here is. Why is he not going to be a featured caster.
Its kind of like Having a boxer interview... without boxer. I would really really like to hear why he wasn't chosen. From him or someone else.

In the interview incontrol explained that day9 was too busy to commit to that much casting.

Pretty sure that's it. I think Day9 is graduating this May so he probably wants to get that done first.

You said yourself that there are issues for people playing outside of the US (latency, timezones, having to fly to the US for finals), and these would have a noticeable impact on their performance. While this format is definitely more open for 'foreigners' than the GSL, and I applaud you for that, it's still heavily catered for those in the US.

For the record I think this is absolutely awesome, and wish you and the team all the best. Will definitely be getting a premium subscription.

Yea, I'll never really understand some people's obessions with GSL and Korean sc players. Wouldn't you be more excited for a league that caters to your countrymen? Sure Koreans are great at sc, but they also sit in an apartment and play it 12 hours a day as a job. Its a different culture, lets try to grow OUR esports culture. Not quite so military in our training, but still fun as hell to watch/follow.

yes, ignorance for the majority of the time draws emotional conclusions that can sometimes be void of logic. However can you also understand from my perspective that seeing the biggest sc2 tourney is not going to be including day9 despite being from california and being more involved with the community then anyone else. It just seemed odd

We have already said the tourney will be open to players from korea, europe, SA etc.

Given the logistics we have we are proud to say that we are pursuing a world champion. If you want to contest that claim please look to the International Courts of The Internet or the ICI and make a claim that we are wrongfully creating an arbitrary title.

Oh and when you are done stfu and enjoy the league
