i dont trust Blizzard with dates anymore
blizzard said they'd release it last week unless they found more bugs. they said they had found more bugs and would release it this week, hardly a huge delay.

Who cares about chat channels

Honestly, I understand how some people would want them but I couldn't give two shits. I have around 1.5 hours to play per night, after work. Why would I want to spend that time chatting? I want to ladder.
I played WC3 for 8 years. The chat channels were a bunch of 20 year old sitting around making Chuck Norris jokes and protecting their horrendous 12-0 accounts. It was a complete and utter nightmare.
For clans and friends, I understand chat would be desirable. As for me, I'll be laddering.
Cheers.

Voidrays +20% vs massive aka broodlords/ultras. So, yeah, there are patch changes concerning Z
oh snap i forgot about 2-pylon block and SCV repairing
this patch will be awesome-o!

Or how 8/11 (72%) Terrans so far have advanced to Ro16 while only 2/7 (28%) zergs have. This is turning into a bloodbath for zergs...

well yeah i downloaded it on SEA and SEA is down, so im assuming as long as the release goes smoothly on our backwater server, the rest of the world will get it in 12 hours or so.

I can see where you are coming from, with only having a limited time to play and whatnot, but for the vast majority of players, chat channels are a MUST! Personally, I find myself getting sick of JUST playing ladder. I want to be able to meet someone around my skill level, and setup 10games in a row against their race. I also have barely met anyone online through ladder, and have yet to find a decent active clan. Without chat channels, the lower level clans are having an extremely hard time finding and keeping players. It's easy for the big clans to recruit, but the lower level unknown clans cannot really flourish due to lack of communication to find potential new players.
Overall, I would love to enter a channel (like KOTH) and chat and game with people who share similar mindsets without having to search on TL.net through the horrendously inactive "practice partner" thread, and hope and pray I find 1 person around the same skill level, who ALSO wants what I want concerning gaming. That could take like 2 weeks+ just to find someone, whereas now with chat channels, I could easily find someone in an hour or so.
TLDR: Chat channels help promote the growth of lower level clans, as well as a home base for random players getting together for KOTHS/practice.

Try going to sea.battle.net and see if you can see your profile.
All mine had was 2 2v2 wins and 40 achievment points, and now the site is "down for maintenance"

The phoenix change is the only thing that will effect the PvZ match up. Yeah pylon block was annoying, but only really worked against terrible players,

Channels are a great way to quickly find games if you want to have more control over how you practice (ie what matchup it is, what map it is, etc) or just don't want to deal with the ladder for other reasons (stress, want to offrace without losing points, etc). Channels make custom games much more viable/useful as you can make sure your opponent is near your skill level with chat channels.
