I finally got a 12/12 match.
Opponent: adjusted points before game = -26 points change for game = -12 Plat Vulture Tango
Me: adjusted points before game = 165 points change for game = +12 Gold Meinhoff Whiskey
Difference = 165 - (-26) = 191
(The differences from my previous closest games (11-12 games) were 180 and 189, also with plat opponents. Very close values, I guess I am playing a lot of guys in the same division tier.)

Yeap, most platinum players are on A rank, for the same reason most diamond players are on E ranks. So I think we have a good chance to guess it right if we say these plat are A, and you're 3 tiers lower that, so you are probaly on an A rank Gold (remember: there are only 2 tiers on gold, the S and the A, 3 on platinum S-B).
Starting the new season it won't be true anymore, so enjoy the knowleadge for the time being :D
(that also mean you already have platinum (rank B) skill, so when the ladder reset you might start at platinum already)

What's that reason? And how do we know what tier most players in a league are in?

Moving average is the reason. I know because I know 100% of the diamond and platinum divisions tiers on LA server, and I confirmed this phenomenum on NA server diamond (a new E rank diamond division pops up every day, while other tiers takes a lot of time to be born, proving E rank to be the popular tier).
It's a tendency from the system. With the reset I think it will ignore moving average and promote by MMR alone, so it won't be true anymore...

That must be a result of the confidence level required of the moving average in order to be promoted. Theoretically the most populated tiers should be the ones closest to mid gold league (so lower diamond / plat divisions and higher silver / bronze divisions). More players being promoted to E rank Diamond rather than F rank implies that the average confidence level is about the size of the F rank tier. If it were larger than more players would be promoted to D rank divisions, were it smaller then more would be in F rank.

Question:
For Master Players.. couldn't they throw games right now and get their MMR lower, then when the ladder resets they are able to grind up points easier off of lesser skilled opponents?

No, it won't work. The higher your MMR, the faster will get your points back (or should I say, the higher the MMR of your opponents, but you'll need to have a high MMR yourself to be matched against them). Specially if you aim Grandmaster league, cause it'll select players by their MMR moving average and not points (as every other league).

I wonder if they compensate for different ability in different race matchups. I lose a lot more in TvP(20%ish wins) than TvT (70%) and TvZ(60%). I blame me not moving up in league because of how I suck at TvP, likely theres a huge variance as I can win diamond terrans but lose to silver toss.

I can't see the player list lol. When I click on the links I don't see a ladder with players. That's not important anyways. What I'm curious about is how do you know diamond x is a tier S / A etc division? Is this because there are 2 divisions and they're not filled yet so it concludes to 2 different tiers of Diamond?
If it's like that then you should be able to gather info about all tiers of the new Diamond divisions don't you?

We need to have a universal listing where division offsets are excluded, like the weekly Top 200 list (or failing that, lots and lots of data and match histories). So we don't know yet which tier is which, we just know that they exist.

Did the start of season 2 in SEA begin at midnight in their timezone?

The current max bonus pool is 3 right now, which would put the season start time somewhere around 7am local time.

Only reason you would want to do this would be to give yourself a win ratio buffer. Won't actually help you gain points in the long run.

Some Notes:
Swann Bravo may be the lowest tier. I'm seeing a lot of former Plat players who are in this division.
Okay SC2Ranks can finally see all these divisions and it's parsing them now. Here's how it breaks down:
Bronze: 7 tiers (confirmed) Silver: 3 tiers (confirmed) Gold: 2 tiers (confirmed) Platinum: 3 tiers (confirmed) Diamond: 7 tiers (confirmed) Master: 1 tier (of course)
Nevermind only 5 Bronze tiers so far, SC2R was out of date on 2 of them.
Okay could be 6 tiers, Overmind Hawk looks like a new one.
Nope 7 tiers confirmed from Random Team info. Everything's verified.

By the way, I just thought this might help.
I just got promoted into Diamond from Platinum, with 74 points after promotion(ie. 73 + 1 bonus). My Diamond division is Artika Sigma, and has 82 players as of now(03-29 07:48 PST)
I had(or should have) 54 points before promotion. I won three games after placement and all of them gave me +18 points, and all of my oponents were Diamond players. On a note, the last oponent gave me 17+1, due to bonus pool, but I'm not 100% sure because I was promoted on that game. The server registered +18 and there was 1 BP at the time, so I assume its 17+1.
If you need, my season 1 snapshot: Division Azimar Foxtrot, 1974 points and 1334 unspent bonus pool. (I'm not sure if the website would wipe out the bonus pool from season 1 as the game does, so I'll post it this way).
I just thought this may help someone into discovering these tiers.

Congratulations Zephirdd! It confirms you were on an S ranked platinum before getting the promotion (lol, do you remember the name? XD), but now I wonder if you are on a F or E ranked diamond.
Well, thanks for the information

Excalibur told me this wasn't anything that hasn't been seen before, but I thought it was worth posting and getting some ideas about it:

Any explanation as to why it shits out a decimal?

So yeah this is definitely an anomaly, not something that's common but also not unheard of. I think we've seen this only a couple of times previously. The decimal is not actually a decimal, the e in the number stands for exponent 10. So what could say 3.359e-09 would actually be 3,359,295,195,749 or whatever.
