everything was cool until i realized it shot with machine guns... That doesn't seem cool anymore. I like to think of my zerg as melee or acid spine spitters.... not gun wielding alien table top crap. Pretty sure this will just be a campaign unit too-- I see no use for this in multi. Zerg is in need of another AOE unit.

im willing to bet its a campaign unit. theres no way a unit like that would be in multiplayer. but the thoughts of a mobile bunker is pretty awesome.

this thread reminds me somehow when some art of the transformer "terratron" or what he was called was shown or blizzard's joke about the tauren marine...
of course nobody know's if they implement this unit/building now but i'm pretty sure it's just in the same cathegory like the tauren and the transformer...

I'm guessing that its a single player only unit because they don't like to have units only avaible in a single matchup. That is why they changed the way infested terrans work in starcraft 2 compaired to the first game.

I havent seen the video but one cool idea, that would probably actually be implementable, would be if it is a burrowed unit with ~100hp or so? no armor, a ground unit and its movable while burrowed but can be detected with detectors, and it can infest ANY building, but depending on the health of the building it takes a different amount of time to infest it, like a supply depot would go quite quickly, while a PF would take quite some time, and during the time of infestation, it gets unburrowed and can get hit by enemy units... and when infested it makes a biological unit special for depending on which unit you infested and becomes a melee unit with quite high life and defence...

Something like that, can get tweaked to get balanced but I mean it doesnt have to be something impossible to defend against but nothing totally niched with potential for good use if well used

Man that's epic. I love the single player only addons in the terran campaign. Zerg ones already seem to be awesome. Someone should, after all 3 sagas are finished, mod a normal multiplayer game to include the singleplayer racial scpeific units (such as this one).

I'd play it against my friends, deff as a custom game, that would be win.

I really dislike how blizzard seems unable to reconcile the mostly cool zerg imagery with all this lame B-movie zombie bullshit. Infested terrans out of infesters don't even make sense, where does the gun come from? Stupid.

Any way this smells like some single player thing tbh.

That does make me excited about the singleplayer though. I was really disappointed that there weren't any special units for the zerg or protoss in the missions aside from a few. I mean they reused the Ultralisk model for the Omegalisk and things like that, when it seems to me like they could used unique models.

What's with all the hate? I think it looks pretty awesome, especially in the video version. It's like it took the marines and the bunker, put them in a blender, and then reassembled the parts into a giant infested thing. It smells of SP unfortunately though. (Oh and ROFL at the guy asking about salvaging it :D)

I would love to see zerg have the ability to actually infest things (maybe they took the mechanic out in alpha so they could put it in HotS?).

Infested thor anyone? Yes please.
