I'm so scared, yesterday I went and bought starcraft 2 from a games store in Panama, and I'm trying to register the cd-key and it says:
"Se han producido los siguientes errores: *La clave de autentificación que has introducido ya ha sido utilizada. Por favor, vuelve a intentarlo. Igualmente puedes hacer clic aquí, luego buscar en el menú del juego y a continuación hacer clic en “Introducir código de CD” para probar esta clave en una región diferente, o vuelve a intentar este proceso con una cuenta de Battle.net diferente."
I tried using America English (US), and it says:
"The following problems have occurred: * The authentication key you entered cannot be claimed. Please check the key and try again. Alternatively, you can enter this key for a different region by changing the leading part of the www.battle.net URL (ex. “eu.battle.net”) in your web browser, or for a different Battle.net account."
Did I buy an used copy of sc2? ... I'm still in Panama, so tomorrow I'm going to go to the store to claim another copy. But I'm afraid that they won't stand for it.
What else can I do if that happens?
I'll keep you informed.
the sticker says: "Starcraft 2 Authentication Key Wings of Liberty - Standard Edition - US XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX"

if the shop has computer and internet, u can ask and input the cd key on the spot and show them.
|
If the key was taken, it would tell you so. You are probably entering it wrong.
Have you checked the obvious things? Make sure you don't confuse 0 (zero) with O (the letter) and 1 (one) with I (L or i).
|
I think you did, and i dont think you can do anything about it unless you call blizzard and fax your reciept.

I have the entire box, it has 4 guest passes, quick start guide, some paper to write on, and the cd. It might help that the box has a barcode and the isbn number?

erm if you bought a copy of the US edition means you have to register on the US website right? did you register on the US b.net website?

I bought a Blizzard game in the past that had a used CD key. Someone had opened the box and written down the cd key, and I hadn't noticed the seal was broken when buying it.
I had to contact blizzard and mail them my CD sleeve that had the CD key on it. About a week later they e-mailed me a new CD key.
So if that's your problem, the good news is you can still get your copy, but you may have to wait a bit for the mail to go through.
They also ban the CD key that you bought originally. It's nice to know the asshole who stole the key gets what he deserves

It only comes with two guest passes. Weird man. Go to the store and see if they will exchange/return.

You will have to talk to blizzard, but if you can prove you bought it (picture of a recipet and the key) they will usually give you a new key and ban the old one from what I hear.
Edit: Technically the store owes you since it was their security lapse and they provided defective product but GL getting anything out of them.

Do you know if I can send an email with a picture of the cd sleeve? But I'm glad that there is an exit for this.

What's the 1st letter, my cd key had a bug where "F" and I think "A" would look exactly the same. It is a weird thing with ink on the card.
|
it seems you have the region wrong... it might be that so try to register your key in another region... maybe is just bugged.
anyway you can always email blizzard support or call them, i've done it and they really help me right away... it make take 1 or 2 days but it will help you a lot
|
Yep... its the wrong region... Key is valid.
|
Yeah dude you're trying to register for the wrong region.
You don't just change the language to US English, you have to make a Bnet account with a US address (you can just make one up, just use United States as your country)
Make a us.battle.net account and it will work fine

Subversion is wrong.
That message only comes up because of 2 things:
1.- Already used key
And (most common)
2.- Your key is missing a digit or 1 of them is wrong, happens a lot while buying SC2 keys on internet stores. Solution: Let them know there is something wrong with the key and tell them to check it for you, they will most likely reply with the correct key, like with me
good luck :D

I think your problem is your CD-key, it shouldn't be just X's. It should be a combination of different letters and numbers.
