Zerg's main advantage, there are not that many "good" zerg players out there for pros to practice against.
You mean, with the zerglings, banelings, mutas, and infestors sitting on the sidelines?
u say that as if it was a bad thing. rewarding unit diversity in Z late game is pretty awesome imo.

Imagine if Fruitseller played the next GSL as Terran and the next one as Protoss...
+ Show Spoiler +Winning every GSL as all 3 races should officially make you the best player in the world, right?

I'd say the races are pretty balanced, considering, you know, a Zerg won the GSL. The small nerfs to reapers/battlecruisers/tanks/zealots probably had a bigger snowball impact on the metagame than people give it credit for, considering it was already pretty balanced even before any change.

This is exactly why some zerg players didn't want cool to win the GSL. Just because one player's skill level far exceeded his peers doesn't mean zerg is fine. Look at the other 200 tournaments and see the situation there.

I quit SC2 months ago..Why play a broken game? Plenty of great balanced games out there to play right now. Only reason people still play is because A) its made by blizzard B) it has "starcraft" in the title. If it were the same game, with diff names of units, diff models, and made by a different company no one would think twice about it. Why? Because its garbage in its current state.

Well i will keep playing it because its mostly fun but no way people will play it for years and years like bw if it stays in its current state (not only balance but mostly the way how boring zerg is after some time)

You're influenced too greatly by what other people say.

I don't usually partake in balance discussions, but I doubt cool's skill far exceeds those of his peers. If Zerg players spent even half the time they do on forums whining about their race actually trying to improve their play then maybe this wouldn't be a problem.

It's not that everyone won't stop whining about the race - it's zerg's style. Zerg's early->midgame is all about trying to recover from your inherent economic/production/unit disadvantage. Zerg has no way to play it safe, wall in, and go for some particular build - or to push an offense and put pressure on the opponent. It's all about not dying.
When a zerg player plays like that for 10 minutes, makes it to late game, and simply gets his 200/200 army slaughtered by the enemy's 200/200 army in ideal circumstances, then goes online and sees all the pros thinking about changing races from zerg... it's very hard to go back and play another game at your A game.

SC2 has Wow Syndroma, sure I QQ a lot in my circle of friends but you people take it to some heights. I like how people have the need to come on the forums and say they quit SC2, we care, we really do.

So when a Terran or Protoss wins some minor tournament it's because their race is too powerful, but when a Zerg wins the biggest SC2 tournament yet, it's because his skill is orders of magnitudes higher than everyone else?
You guys are ridiculous. This is all political, and you're just repeating bullshit to get your race buffed because you're lazy.

I always find posts like these cute. Do you have any experience playing zerg? I'm not a pro by any stretch of the imagination, but I like to play random races and I'm not really set on any one race. Having said that zerg is my weakest race, whether this has to do with imbalance or simple mechanical differences is up for debate, but don't run your mouth about shit you know nothing about. Ya just look ignant

Agreed, but you won't get through to them. At this point there are too many people repeating what they've heard, and sheep take great comfort in numbers

i like the fact that pretty much every thread eventually turns into a balance discussion,(and yes, im a zerg) but 1 problem for zerg i think, is that most zerg doesn't know how to play against terran in a decent way,
and i hope you all know that he is not changing, he said in GSL interview with Artosis that because of his success in this tournament he will stay with zerg.
|
This thread is primed for destruction.
|
He already said that he will stay Zerg in a interview.
BTW: Amazing, a Zerg player won the GSL
|
omg. zerg won. zerg is op. nerf zerg. buff toss cuz they didn't make it into the semis.

Anyways, much congrats to Fruitseller. Quite the accomplishment. <3

Fruitseller's 2nd reply: What am I supposed to do when they use 3 dropships and expand all over the map.
