Bring this thread up please! Several pros have weighed in, I think the hosts (especially Artosis and Incontrol) would have some cool/insightful things to say about it. thanks jp :D

It is not worth making bio viable in TvT if it makes mech not viable in TvZ and TvP The 'excitement' balance of bio vs mech

Several pros have weighed in, I think the hosts (especially Artosis and Incontrol) would have some cool/insightful things to say about it. thanks jp :D This was argued about on Inside The Game between Idra and Incontrol. The result didn't even come close to making the discussion worthwhile. Though IMO it honestly won't ever be worthwhile because he bases a ton of his opinion off GSL results where quite a few of the protoss rely on 2 base timings instead of actual effective game strategy to win over time. When it is discussed however the 3 Protoss Hosts and 1 Protoss guest will all agree. What should be discussed is how the mule is far too effective in early and late game scenarios because +300 early does way more than chronoboost or larva inject can do. I would like them to also bring up and push for better maps. I know this topic has been done before, but pros get shit done where as just talking about it doesn't. If you watch NASL or look at some of the ICCUP maps compared to the current maps the games being played tend to play out a bit more interestingly instead of battle in the middle. Winner of that battle pushes and wins. -_-

You should follow JP on twitter as he updates that most. It hasn't been on the calendar for three weeks straight. And there is a show tonight, white RA may be on

Blizzard maps like shakuras/shattered temple are actually bad designed, because its to easy to defend multiple expos by sieging tanks in the middle. This means that blizzard maps are somewhat mech-friendly. But that kind of map design is really boring and when its tough to defend mutltiple expansions it creates for more interesting games. SO the solution to the mech problem is to redesign/buff for example the hellion, nerf bio (through emp) and make collosus worse vs mech (slightly better vs bio). I suspect however that Artosis (through his bias) will state that terrans haven't learned to use mech properly yet (he had this opinion forever, which is funny because he doesn't play terran, and all high lvl terran players who has experiemented with mech says its not viable). Incontrol will probably somewhat agree with him, and refer to a few games of his own where he lost to mech. Obv. the problem with the above discussion is that the show need a terran host, who understands the game from the terran perspective. I know a player like Jinro has a lot of opinions of mech, and it would be really cool if they invited him as guest to talk about the terran state of the game (and perhaps life in general in korea).

I did not disagree with you on that. -You then talk about either changing MANY units which will affect the other matchups. -Compared to BW as well mech isn't a good strategy. It actually does not trade as well as in BW, but is just as expensive and longer to build. -His issue in the post is that he wants more of a WOW factor in SC2. I don't disagree with that either, but the game isn't as imbalanced as he discusses. The game currently lacks the complexity of BW, and that is for one reason. Blizzard wants $180 for SC2 instead of the $60 the current market demands for most video game. Races I agree don't work in the same way they did in Broodwar, but that doesn't mean the game is "broken."

Well but his post has nothing to do with maps or mules or whatever (because if maps were made "better", mech would just be even worse vs toss). It is primarily the fact that mech is just bad vs toss, and the only way to fix it through some unit changes. I agree that this will change all the MU, and a lot of testing has to be done to make balanced changes. I hope however that we will see some changes to mech in HOTS.
