I mean not that State of the Game is an official response to Blizzard, but I imagine people have sent them emails about it over the last few months. It just sounds surprisingly unprofessional. Blizzard ignores community, more at 11.

What i'm a bit concerned is that i have the feel people holding back their opinions, for whatever reason (scared of a shitstorm or something). They're not completely outspoken to what they think, and that's what i really really loved about the early SotG casts. Maybe it's just my imagination though.

They probably wanted to do the same this time but I suppose that the drop hacking incident came at a really uncomfortable time.

Takes more actions and the protoss has more time to react. Not to mention the possibility of one or two still catching the cannon. the way to avoid it is drop further away from the cannon, but then of course it [the cannon] can get more hits off/you're no longer at the heart of the mineral line, which is optimal. Yes, I also have this feeling -_-, but i think it's worth 150 minerals to force the actions and potential fuck-up. as far as the big engagements are concerned, i've seen protoss deal with it exceptionally well. Either it goes great for the zerg or it goes terribly. Either the protoss lays great force fields and executes the blinks well or they don't. It's like the swing dynamic Day was talking about in the episode. you can engage well and clean up a bunch of overlords to boot, or you can get completely annihilated. the big baneling play is also pretty vulnerable if there are a sprinkle of void rays in the mix, I've found, because they're invariably going to get charged up (the style is usually completely lacking anti-air, save infested terrans that don't bode well against colossus), and probably end up being cost efficient with clean up. obviously everything is situational, and you're not always going to have the stargate play to work with, but it's definitely something to consider i think. once again, it isn't as if your claim is invalid--you're the pro, I'm the forum poster, it's not as if I could stand on even footing even if i were a staple in the community--but I don't think it can be stamped overpowered. Even if it were, nerfing overlords, as you mentioned, albeit off the cuff, doesn't seem like it'd ever be the right fix. I might be wrong, but IIRC banelings don't auto-target any buildings including cannons because their auto-attack only works against units. However, they do aggro any other combat unit like zealots, stalkers, immortals, sentries, etc. However, you can still micro banelings anyways, but it's quite hard, especially if you drop into multiple mineral lines at the same time. Prediction: In 1 year we will see a single immortal behind all protoss mineral lines to distract banelings :p Anyways, baneling drops are really, really effective and i've killed whole mineral lines even with 2 cannons defending them (usually an overlord can still drop 2-3 banelings before dying, depending on the angle in which you approach the cannons). It definatly requires protoss to be more active in defending and keeping control of their air space.

You are correct about the cannon. they have to switch the baneling over to also target buildings before it can be aggro'd by the cannon. OT: Amazing episode, glad to have Jeff back, there was some great camaraderie on the show. Thanks!
