And, as per usual, when some authority shouts CONSPIRACY THEORIES!!!!! what they really mean is "don't look over here, nothing to see here". We all knew this is what it was anyway, I think it's about time we start getting some no-agenda theory into ESPORTS.

It's fucking 4 hours a week. It's not detrimental to them in the slightest.
It's even possible for them to practice while on SOTG if they wanted to, just talk through skype and not have the webcam on -_-
I think you greatly misunderstand the amount of effort it takes to be the best at this game(100%). Huk has stated he practices 10 hours or more a day. Thats what it takes to win DreamHack and HomeStory. Personally, I work that much in a day and it knocks me out. With my commute and the small necessity of shopping for food, cleaning and other parts of real life, I have a little free time. I feel safe is saying that the guys over at EG are busier that I am. I can see why they want to keep their life simple and keep their eye on the prize.
But if you feel they can practice against the best players in the world while also being part of a podcast, more power to you. Your wrong, but that never stopped anyone.

iNcontroL basically said exactly what you summed up last night during Kings of Tin. In fact, with the success of HuK I think it has been a major eye opener for everyone in that regards. I think his words were basically, "how many champions have you heard say they practice 3 hours a day?"
Can't think of one.

Your argument would be valid, if incontrol and idra didn't just replace one weekly two hour podcast with another weekly tho hour podcast. Time gained for playing starcraft: 0 hours.

Idra says he practices 3 hours a day.
Oh wait.

You know what else is bad? Not taking breaks to talk with your friends and enjoy yourself.
There are many people who practice less than Huk and are still better than him, which you will probably notice in the upcoming code s.

I guess it could be insulting because EG isn't trying to be amusing but that'd be a very remote and thin insult.

So what's with you and shitting on other organizations? You did this in the nasl thread about avilo, you did this in the egmc thread, and now it looks like you're again trying to cause a ten page derail because you can't seem to resist posting a comment about your immediate opinion and treating as a fact, regardless of whether or not you happen to be wrong.
Also, I don't get why everyone's worked up about the screenshot; from what scoots said it looks like geoff is still going to be a guest on sotg whenever, but just can't dedicate the time in advance to be a dedicated host. How does that conflict with what geoff said about not having the time to do everything he's been doing?

4 hours a week in a professional environment? Im not sure about you, but 4 hours is a long time, i work 8 hour days like the rest of the real world, and my work isn't near as tiring as playing SC2 for 8+ hours a day. I find 4 hours to go hang out with friends hard to accomplish, cause they all have to earn their bread also. That could be 4 hours relaxing, that could be 4 hours with their girlfriend, that could be 4 hours looking over and analyzing builds.
Now, I'm not sure if I'm OK with deals that go under the radar, about the stars we love. If that is in fact what happened. Also, we don't contextually know the whole reason unless sirscoots want's to give all the information.

The fact that geoff either had to get appearing on SOTG cleared with sirscoots or was just given the option to guest host from sirscoots at least appears to confirm that this whole exit from SOTG had something to do with EG (or OneMoreGame or a sponser); which is what they attempted to avoid saying (and somewhat mocked those who had similar suspicions) earlier. It would seem pretty naive at this point to think that there weren't external factors other than geoff being busy in his leaving.

At least a dozen times now someone has told me something that EG has done or said or plans to do and my first reaction is to laugh. But it's ok, I'm in a bit of a rut myself. If I had to watch all of my important matches in the past year, the only way I'd survive is by laughing.
Common Tyler, your trying separate things that you cannot really take apart when commenting on peoples jobs like that. That's like me posting what a nice guy you are,and after that make another post about how an awful player you are.You do not know me personally so you won't get offended but if Huk posted on the forums and told you how shitty your play is,it wouldn't sit right would it?You cannot dismiss peoples jobs because more often then not it's what people love to do and are proud of it,so by insulting their work you cannot expect to wash it off or dismiss it as an insult on a personal level with:"But your a great guy."
I'm not defending EG here I'm just surprise that you had this naive thought process,or maybe something else is up,I wouldn't know that....

prejudice is bad but suspicion is healthy, i just hope too many people dont start jumping to conclusions about conspiracy theories without knowing all the facts.

Its only going to cause a derail if we allow it to. If we keep this as a rational discussion and keep it on topic, and not flame other people it should be fine dood.
I'm not going to pretend that I know the ins and outs of this entire situation, because I don't and very few people do. But in the immortal words of The Dude himself, "New Shit has come to light man!"
What I would posit is that the central core of this argument is about corporate transparency in Esports.
Do we deserve said transparency? Do we have a right to such a thing? Probably not, but the way that business has been conducted in the past we feel entitled to it.
The problems with transparency are apparent. EG is a business and their primary goal is to turn a profit. There is no problem with that at all. Transparency could hurt their business interests in ways that only their top men could say.
But we are all witnesses to the problems of less transparency. This giant shit storm over a seemingly small thing. Lack of transparency makes every action that takes away something we love seem like a nefarious money grabbing ploy.
My take is that Esports is built around money yes, but also around a community. If we go away, so does the money. And we don't like being lied to.
If you're going to be unapologetic about the actions taken now, Why the hell would you hide them in the first place?
I have no problem with EG but I like to be rewarded for my loyalty, and not lied to.
So I guess I would just say, be more transparent in your intentions involving the community and avoid shit storms like this you will.

The community doesn't like being handed something that's lower quality than what we originally had. State of the Game was awesome, it's perfectly natural to want a piece of that pie, just don't take the entire thing and act like it's better than what we had.
Edit: I think the biggest think to take from the Reddit screenshot of the conversation between InControl and SirScoots is that it actually had to be clarified that InControl is free to be on SoTG, that implies to me that InControl thought otherwise. I don't know where InControl would get that thought from, but the most likely source is SirScoots(purely my own thinking here, I really can't say for sure if EG asked Idra and InC to devote their time to ITG over SOTG when ITG first started, but it seems pretty likely).
