It's just the SOTG that he apparently doesn't have time for.
So it's not a matter of time at all, it's a matter of him choosing where to spend his "community time" (that he does still have) on.
It seems more like someone else choosing for him...

CrossTheRiver,
You are absolutely right and I appreciate you calling me on it. My quip was a defensive reaction and not an appropriate response.

This right here is gold. And JP, SOTG gets me through my long driving shifts, so you've always got at least one fan!

While I don't fully agree with negative comments with no explanation, I have to agree with Tyler on this certain situation SirScoots. You preach you want transparency in the gaming community on Live on Three, yet when you are asked about why a very popular show, that built Incontrol's career as a personality btw, is being stripped of one of its main personalities, you shoot down all questions and claim there is no conspiracy when there is something going on behind the scenes.
I understand Geoff needed more time to practice and commit to other projects. However, this new evidence seems to speak of the contrary; it interfered with OnGameNet shows and you did not want to work with/compete with other projects. As you JUST said this sunday on Weapon of Choice, this community sees directly through bullshit, and everyone did from the beginning. They gave you and EG the benefit of the doubt, but this new evidence has tarnished your credibility IMO.
Personally, I feel if you were upfront about everything and explained why, there would not be ANY sort of controversy, other than some disgruntled fans that would accept that Geoff needs to move on from the show. You're still a good guy, but I feel you dropped the ball on this one.

Saying you wouldn't want to do business with one entity or another is all good, doesn't require follow up.
But when you openly declare that a business, team or entity is a joke, I think that should require some explanation. Not that you are right or wrong, but just leaving it there looks like it is precisely an insult and most people read that as "company X is a joke therefore they are bad or they shouldn't be taken serious"
You're very popular in this community Tyler and people put very serious weight to the things you say. Explaining humor has been ridiculed in this community for years now. I'm absolutely not going to explain why I am amused. That is a joke, too. Taking humor seriously is a ridiculous exercise because of how counterproductive it is. People are free to react to humor however they want, but to then consciously think about it and respond to it without humor is a path going nowhere. If EG wants to laugh at me for laughing, that's awesome. I think they should think my statement is a joke. I won't be offended. Actually, I'd just laugh harder =]!
Well, if that is your stance then I would say you already explained what you were thinking earlier in the thread.
I don't think I've encountered someone using "team X is a joke" to mean literally "what team X does is hilarious" but that's my limited experience for you. In other words, I understand better now that you specified.

I cant get behind supporting EG. I love Idra as a player, Incontrol as a person, but I can not stand SirScoots at all. Ever since I saw him with DjWheat and Slasher on LO3(i think?) after MLG at the LG party Noah threw trying to get all of his members on the show when liquid had like 5 inside the top 8 I just can not stand his self promoting. We dont care if they are part of EG if they arent posting results or they have nothing to comment on past the first few rounds. I saw the shameless plugging and the shameless attempt at camera time for his members, And from a business aspect it is understandable but for me it was highly annoying.
Into the Game is a boring show to me. So much more boring than any other SC2 show I have seen. The strategies they speak of, half of the time the pros are like "wtf is that" and the game mechanics usage brought up they are still like "wtf why does that matter". (Roach burrow to stop a depot going up -- They were all like yeah cool next topic this is shit)
Anyone who thought that scoots wasnt behind Incontrol leaving SOTG was a fool.

Is it that hard to say "Incontrol will concentrate more on actually playing" ? Even if he stays on ITG, there's a reasoning nobody can disagree with for leaving SotG, instead you just tiptoe around the issue.

Because people want it (eSports) to grow, yet don't want to deal with what needs to happen for it to properly reach those goals. +1 to you. Was a Reddit comment by DJ wheat Source(including what he was replying to and the context): http://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/ib2nv/the_last_piece_of_evidence_re_sotg_eg/#c22c2isI honestly am less of a fan of DJWheat's as a result. Commenting so callously on something that benefited him, I'm waiting for an explanation on how the transfer of EG players from SoTG to ITG helped ESports. Was EG going to lose SteelSeries as a sponsor if they didn't make this move? Did this move bring new sponsors into ESports? Did this move help the careers of anyone except DJWheat?(Whose career certainly didn't need the boost). If someone can explain to me why this move "needed to happen to properly reach those goals," I would appreciate it.
This seems to be happening more and more lately. I hope the whole "make esports happen" thing is not being exploited too much, but I'm really not sure about that...

I 100% agree! It was by far the best SC2 show out there... Regarding the EG debate, EG aswell as incontrol should have been more transparent about this. Now that it is most likely that EG told him to leave SOTG because of sponsors it puts them in a negative light... Its just very sad but I hope JP Day[9] and Tyler come back soon even better then before

this is great. keep fighting the good fight. EG wants all this drama, so give them the drama.

I wouldn't pay attention to anything destiny says, attention whore 101. SotG was the best show related to starcraft though ):

This is what happens when people start sniffing money. Passion for the game is the most important thing, but a few bucks get slung around and people start getting crazy. And the thing is, just being passionate about Esports and showing that passion to the fans is more than enough to get the money flowing. Look at Day9. His love of the game and nice guy honesty makes him successful naturally.
I hope this is just a one off thing, but it worries me to see it get so shady.

It's fucking 4 hours a week. It's not detrimental to them in the slightest.
It's even possible for them to practice while on SOTG if they wanted to, just talk through skype and not have the webcam on -_- I think you greatly misunderstand the amount of effort it takes to be the best at this game(100%). Huk has stated he practices 10 hours or more a day. Thats what it takes to win DreamHack and HomeStory. Personally, I work that much in a day and it knocks me out. With my commute and the small necessity of shopping for food, cleaning and other parts of real life, I have a little free time. I feel safe is saying that the guys over at EG are busier that I am. I can see why they want to keep their life simple and keep their eye on the prize. But if you feel they can practice against the best players in the world while also being part of a podcast, more power to you. Your wrong, but that never stopped anyone. iNcontroL basically said exactly what you summed up last night during Kings of Tin. In fact, with the success of HuK I think it has been a major eye opener for everyone in that regards. I think his words were basically, "how many champions have you heard say they practice 3 hours a day?" Can't think of one. Mind=blown Since people can't practice 3 hous a week and win, they have to practice 10+ hours every day with not exceptions like 1 or 2 8+ hours practice days. I do not see any problem with this brilliant line of thought.
