Those 3 things look awful... I've never understood why people buy these high priced mice/keyboards, are they really that much better than the average normal priced ones? Getting a decent mouse is definitely worth it. Plus Razer is an awesome company, support SC2 as well as other pro games. I've had a lot of Razer stuff... Breaks like crazy. Their mice have timebombs in them. Mine currently works with a z-axis bug and I've been sending an incredible amount of e-mails (8) in the last 4 days, today they finally told me to RMA it... Sigh. Also Look at the microphone frequencies... it's horrible -_-

The concern isn't really how fast the mouse ends up moving, but how rapidly it goes from 0m/s to maximum speed - in all honesty, with highly practiced gamers its probably pretty fucking high.

and a 130$ for a keyboard? YOU HAVE TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME. In a game where the most highly regarded equipment by pros are logitech miniob (10$) and the samsung dt-35 (5$ in korea) they come out with a package that costs over 300$. unbelievable. I'll stick to my salmosa, my 30$ sennheiser headset, and generic keyboard.

Same for all my other Razer stuff.

I'm pretty sure it means acceleration on the mice - but i could be very wrong. I can tell you its not a default acceleration. Their Deathadder page says 15g accel, and it has no discernable mouse acceleration unless you turn it on in the drivers (its off by default). Given that I have never caused this thing to skip, though, I have to wonder if 50g isn't actually like 20g of overkill in the best case.

I'm pretty sure it means acceleration on the mice - but i could be very wrong. There is no in-built software or hardware mouse acceleration on the Abyssus (I have one) or any other Razer mouse. The acceleration they are talking about is a person physically accelerating the mouse with their hands. In other words, the kind of acceleration a mouse can undergo even if it's not plugged in/if the computer's off. For RTS, this is an unimportant number. You probably don't use 400 DPI to play SC2. ========Longer Explanation Let's take the DeathAdder for example (I just googled it and it came up instantly). It has this little spec in the spec list "60–120 inches per second and 15g of acceleration" These are parameters that the mouse hardware/software can withstand. The inches per second parameter is generally the speed at which the mouse tracking no longer works properly - the tracking "curve" gets bent and the mouse cursor exhibits odd behavior not necessarily corresponding to hand movement. The acceleration parameter is the same idea. Past 15 g's, the tracking in the mouse will just not work. If you use a low DPI cursor setting, you are more likely to move your mouse (physically) at a higher velocity. For players that dial down their DPI all the way to play e.g. FPS games with super-low cursor movement, these parameters give them the "physical limits" of the mouse hardware and software. If you use higher DPI settings (1000+), you will probably never have to worry about these unless your screen is the size of a small building.

I don't look at my hands when I play - figure it's more important to look at my screen rather than worry about "APM" when I can gauge my own speed. The headphones are overpriced but I really like the APM meter on the. Green means you can talk to me, yellows means keep it simple, red means STFU.

When I focus on a game my peripheral vision ends at the edge of the screen. Perhaps that's how I got to play high level CS1.6 online and at LANs. When I play something and it's intense I completely shut down the outside. Have you ever played with an APM meter? For 10 seconds I see it and then it just doesn't exist anymore because it's futile as hell. What if I did see the little light, what good would it do to me? I can estimate my APM if I want to, but I don't need to. What's important is "am I fast enough". Personally I know if I'm going as fast as I can go... It's just there - I'm conscious of it. I don't need a babysitter. If, when you play SC, you bother yourself with little lights so you can gauge your speed, you're missing out man. Game sense is good for you.
