If u want a super solid mouse, get the Zowie EC1 or 2 (EC1 is very similarily shaped to the microsoft IME 3.0, EC2 is a smaller version of that). I was going to disagree, but then I realized the only piece of razer hardware I have is the DeathAdder. So far it's been wonders for me. I have an older generation Diamondback and it is amazing. Have Razer products really gone that far downhill since 5-6 years ago? the diamondback is indeed amazing.
meanwhile, just ignore those haters, razer still makes some good products like the abyssus and new deathadder. their mouse pads arent bad either. The Blackwidow has also been drawing very good feedbacks from many buyers.

Does anyone know if you can deactivate the APM lighting tech shit for the keyboard? the design really seem enchanting to me but I just can't stand flashy lightings when I'm playing computer games, that would be sick distracting. Or are there any other alternatives with similar design that isn't complete garbage in other ways than the design?

Haven't heard anything good about Razer keyboards really but I'm very interested in the mouse as it seems to be ambidextrous like my current trusty Diamondback.

i still wonder when they are going to release this starcraft gear...

Razer Keyboards are not good. I bought one for $90, and it broke after 5 starcraft 2 matches... The 5 key broke mid match, and I don't pound on keyboards that much.
I use a Lite-On keyboard for like, $6, lol.
The Razer Copperhead is awesome for Lefties, its what I use and i love it.

Must resist my inner consumer whore.

I have a fairly high end pair of razer periphs, a mamba and a lycosa. Both are extremely good, and I'm used to working with pretty high end peripherals. The keyboard has some minor faults in that the press angles on some keys are a bit steep (that is you can't kind of jab them from the side in haste and get a press). I've only ever had a problem with the shift key, but that can be annoying in a tense game.
The mamba is superb, both in looks and functionality. The weight is perfect, the balance is amazing, none of the complaints I've seen apply (scroll wheel is good, no flashy lights, cable is solid and removeable, form factor is fantastic). I can say without hesitation that it's far better than the logitech gaming mice, I've used all of those, ditto with anything microsoft puts out. I dunno about the low end stuff, but razer is keeping their high quality stuff topnotch

Sounds like macro will be ok with this keyboard. Might be worth bying it then

I tried the Mouse and keyboard at dreamhack, it was truely terrible. The keyboard wasn't mechanical despite being out for such a high price. It didn't feel too good using it, it was kinda plasty. The mouse wasn't that good either, it just didnt feel good gripping it.

How did the on-the-fly-macro work in SC2?
It sounds to good to be true if they have made a keyboard that have working macro in SC2, and also is promoted by Blizzard.
On-The-Fly Macro Recording allows for Effortless Configuration Record unlimited macros on-the-fly without having to take your eye off the game and immediately change between up to 10 profiles without the hassle of going into complex driver menus
