What I expect that will happen? Blizzard can't ignore the huge negative reactions here, on their beta forum etc, they can't, unless they want to dig their own grave. They'll respond and make us feel all better, guaranteeing us they'll definitly consider and actally implement it.

+ Show Spoiler + I think you're not understanding that the absence of channel is a decision by blizzard. On every topic since the "inteview of the shame" I read things like "omg blizzard !!What have you done? We want channel of course that's one of the main feature of bnet 1.0" etc etc. Don't you think Blizzard knows that? This is clearly a stategic decision by Blizzard. The channels won't change the number of copies they will sell: -"Starcraft fans" and "hardcore gamers" will buy the game no matter what.. (50% of players are lying on one of the recents polls). -Casual players and WoW players just won't be aware of the absence of channels. So, if their decision won't make more money directly with Starcraft2 copies, I guess the money comes from somewhere else. Maybe they want to keep WoW players in their community of players on WoW. They plan making some games on WoW channels, they play, then they come back on WoW. They don't make friends on sc2, they don't even think about leaving WoW for sc2. So i guess we won't have channels not matter how we whine. Don't trust Blizzard employes making fools on itw "channels ? do you really want these?".

Another problem now is Blizzard is scared to even try to add chat channels or the other things whished because it will show that there's a community with the power of forcing them to do something unplanned. So I belaive from this point Starcraft, fan sites community sites and all gaming web sites who would like to co operate should come together and starting with the release of the actual game we shall start an anti bnet2 campain and pull MORE eyes of the Casual playes since they really dont care about this stuff which is not bad since they really like to enjoy games played little amounts or unproffesionally plus not at a very competitive level., With more people's eyes are on the subject and more people understand what blizzard is doing and how they are making fun of the people with the recent interviews (with the sarcrasms jokes and the way they explain stuff) we might begin a bigger campaign. We must have a lead on this and this lead must realize that the problem is started with chat channels lan etc but now its just blizzards way of approaching to the customers. Blizzard after WoW have made incredible amoutns of profits so maybe today the SC community is not somethişng they are afraid to lose etc. But once the reputation goes the profit follows. Tomorrow they might say "Ok Ok we are gonna do something about channels a bit after release" just to avoid other flames about LAN, Cross Realm,Online replays, Privacy, Marketin, Public Relations. It is time to start a huge campaign JUST AGAINST Blizzards reputation and they way they make fun of community. Blizz might be huge on its resources money etc. But internet and we have power to FULLY MAKE FUN OF THEIR INCREDIBLY LAME BNET2. And all shall see who can make fun of who after we start these.

Please add "5 map limit and lack of local hosting of custom maps" to the main issues list in the red quote. Sorry if it's been said already. I didn't have time to read through all of the posts.

And yes, i have already cancelled my pre-ordered CE despite the 10% of the price that i lost. Im going to boycote them like i did with L4D2, even if ill be alone at least im not one of these empty minded slaves that will buy Blizzard's porduct even if its an empty cd. I do have a free will and i wont let companies like Blizzard mess with me like that. What FP did on this interview is just disgusting.

a laddersystem where no one will be a loser and no one a REAL WINNER makes me way more sad T_T Yeah many people like me hate that. If you have brothers/son/wife/whatever you need to purchase an entire NEW game just to let them play on there own nick on the SAME server. But Blizzard is doing that to bleed us dry and get the most money possible. People are angry about this channel thing, because it seems like it blatantly just making us angry (not listening) for no reason. Sad part here, even if they realize there mistake, there is still a list of things wrong with BNET2, and I doubt they will fix them all.

Bashiok said: There will be chat rooms, they're just not making launch. Probably. He then clarified with: So Frank was out for interviews in EU it seems (?) and said something to the effect of "no chat rooms" but there would be chat for guilds and groups. Which is more or less what was said before. That it would be more about getting people into focused discussions instead of just having free for all chat systems. In any case, I don't know a lot about it. Personally, chat rooms are soooooo 2002. So I don't think anything has changed. There will be no chat system as it existed in SC1 and WC3, which is what Pearce is referring to. Instead, after launch, they're going to set up a system of more focused, topic-based channels, and also private clan chat channels (clan support is DEFINITELY going to happen, remember). Also, keep in mind that Frank Pearce is the vice president of Blizzard, something like an overseeing producer on SC2 ("senior company management," so to speak), and thus not someone who's really involved in day-to-day development decisions. Right now, there are no chat rooms, and there won't be at launch; so that's what he knows, and that's what he's saying...that there are no plans for chat channels by launch. If you want to know the actual dev teams detailed post-launch plans, you need to hear from the guys who actually run the day-to-day development of SC2 and create those kinds of plans...Chris Sigaty and Dustin Browder. And they've answered this question many, many times before. So most likely nothing at all has changed. So please: DON'T PANIC. Probably a little late for that now, though. ![]() "Would you give SC2 a one-star rating on Amazon to protest BNET? This is why I hate the Internet. I am not joking. If you dislike the game enough to give it one stars, then do so. If you like it better than one star, then do so. But troll-y publicity stunts like this are both useless and dishonest, and make about as much difference to Blizzard as stupid petition threads where everyone posts "/signed."

Sorry if it's been said already. I didn't have time to read through all of the posts. This is actually a pretty important point for the UMS community I believe. I can see why Blizzard would want to limit it - maybe a ranking type system where if you have X number of times your map has been played, you can additional slots/space for more maps. This would allow the best map makers to add more great maps without everyone flooding Blizzard's servers with crap. That said, I would buy SC2 without this feature. I care much more strongly about chat rooms and cross-region functionality.
