The things that I don't like are: No LAN Custom Map system No Cross Realm play (private chat channels?) At the moment I don't understand why there couldn't be a system that allows players to play cross realms and why there couldn't be a "star league" for top players of each realm, and they could battle in the star league? I don't know, hopefully they listen to the community, think a moment and work it out.

But troll-y publicity stunts like this are both useless and dishonest, and make about as much difference to Blizzard as stupid petition threads where everyone posts "/signed." Some of us are tired of waiting around for Blizzard to listen. If you have a better idea say it. Until than the ratings strategy has been proven in the past to get results but impacting the one thing all companies DO care about, Their wallets. So ill ask again Poll: Would you give SC2 a one star amazon rating to protest BNET? Yes (6508) No (1331) 7839 total votes Your vote: Would you give SC2 a one star amazon rating to protest BNET?

Part of what made me love starcraft was the ability to connect, chat and talk to virtually anyone. I could meet one person, then that persons friends, and all the people they know simply as the flitted in and out of that channel. I could go to a channel regularly and meet new people. There were channels if I felt like trash talking. A lack of a chat room really really infuriates me. What do they mean their match making system will remove the need for a chat room? They realize chatrooms were used for more than setting up games right? Bnet as it is now is...shitty. Everyones isolated, for the most part, unless you know them. No room for meeting new people. No Cross realm play is obviously the most stupid thing ever. I can't believe they didn't realize that would anger everyone beyond belief! No lan. YOU GREEDY FUCKING WHORES. LAN IS NEEDED. YOU PIECES OF SHIT

Would be interesting to see how large of a percentage 3400 people voting no really are. If you are talking about statistical analysis, then we can find the margin of error by talking 1 over the square root of the sample size, so for 3400, the margin of error is approx accurate to within 1.7% of the entire starcraft community regardless of the total population.

I mean you may very well have all of your teammates in your contact list. But part of what made CWs nice was to be able to chat with the other team too. Now you basically need to make line ups before hands (what if one of your players has an unexpected thing to do?) and you dont know who is online in the other team... For the rest : i think SC2 is a decent game but bnet is just impossible. I can conceive the no LAN mode, but no cross server? Seriously? I m in Ireland and I lag A LOT when playing with some russian or greek friends. And i dont get how it is ok to play a game between a Canadian and an Argentinian but not between Dublin and Boston...

it's the same thing with wow name changes, possible sc2 account resets/ changes /..., wow pve-to-pvp-transfers if "the community wants it, we (blizzard) will implement it." read: If there are enough fools willing to pay for services which should be part of the product on release, it will get implemented sooner or later. FOR A FEE. the pve-pvp transfer took like 4 years btw. I don't expect to wait 4 years to have a fucking chat channel so I can talk with friends without using the terrible "party" system.

Nope. No plans for specific chat rooms at this time. You'll be able to open up chats direct with your friends, and when we add clans and groups there'll be chats for your clans and groups, but no specific plans for chat rooms right now. Do you really want chat rooms? A few days ago, someone posted a thread where he pointed out that the public chat channel system in Bnet was basically a huge mess and a failure. In that thread, everyone immediately cried foul and pointed out that all they really wanted were private clan chat channels, which is the only place people hung out anyway. Now, Frank Pearce has confirmed that there will be private clan chat channels, but there will not be public chat channels...and everyone is baying for his blood. To be fair, perhaps they meant merely private chat channels that were not clan-related. But most of the examples people brought up were clan chat channels. Bashiok also recently posted basically that to the best of his knowledge nothing has changed in this regard, and what Browder and Sigaty said about a month ago still holds true...namely, that while they have no plans for chat rooms a la Bnet, they're planning to create a more topical, focused discussion groups with moderation. See: Chris Sigaty said: One of the biggest features that I'd like to see get in as soon as possible that won't be in there for launch is Groups. Groups is a concept of creating an entity like a map-making community so they can chat with each other and hang out. I don't have a date on that yet. It's past the tournament patch but its definitely one of the earlier features we'd like to see. Whether it happens in the patch or it happens in Expansion One, I don't know yet. There's a huge list of stuff on the Battle.net side that we really want to have happen but we don't have dates on it. Beyond that you're talking about actual constructions different than a group-like clan, I don't even have dates on that stuff, for now. I don't think that's in right now for the tournament patch. So...no public chat channels, but the equivalent of clan chat channels post launch, and so-called "groups" that are basically focused, moderated chat rooms, also post-launch. I fail to understand the utter rage this is creating.
