If there is enough people watching it. Supply and demand. Either sc2 just won't draw the crowd in which case it won't become a big e-sport and the companies won't invest, or it will draw a large spectator crowd and companies will jump on investing. It all comes down to the game, the players and the fans. Corporations will always be standing by to fuel it with money if they think they can get more cash out on the other side. Did you know HOW LONG before the MSL got their sponsor after that power equipment failure? yeah .. thats the difference. and even with great connection of B.net2, it is still BOUND to fuck up.

That is a very weak analogy. You could view SC as a "tool" for creating interesting "dramas". In which case, as long as the license permits, you are allowed to use the tool to create a product for commercial purposes. However, I'd wager that Blizzard's EULA does not permit the user to use SC for commercial purposes. If I developed an application (even for free), I would be really pissed if someone else used it for profit without my permission.

Anyways, I think it is perfectly reasonable for the creator of anything (software, art, tool, etc) to explicitly forbid commercial use of their creation. Of course, they can reach a separate license agreement.

All of you are nothing but numbers and $$$$ to Blizzard. If you need any evidence, just look at battle.net 2.0 You're absolutely nothing to the mega corporations that make up KESPA and run it like idiots either, dumb fuck. I mean a lot more to Blizzard as someone who buys their products and talks about them with my friends, and they've given me a hell of a lot more. At least Blizzard does something valuable, KESPA is a typical middle man organization. Just idiocy. I mean how many games have eSports leagues period? Only Blizzard's. And Warcraft 3 is one of the biggest competitive games in the world, your personal irrelevant tastes aside.

blizzard has given KESPA until augest to stop broadcasting all SCBW games without paying them a fee for the right to use their own intellectual property the solution for KESPA is simple KESPA has until augest to hire a team of programmers to program a new videogame called "super star chess" in this computer game "super star chess" it is exactly like starcraft one in terms of how much health, damage, and movement speed, and production costs and micro mechanics and build times units and buildings have. so "super star chess" will be exactly like "starcraft brood war" in every way but to avoid problems with intellectual property rights, in super star chess minerals are called bluecryss and vespene gas is called zelium gas. also, every unit and building in "super star chess" is called by a different name than what it is called in starcraft brood war, and also there are different graphic models used for each unit to avoid problems with IP rights so KESPA, you better hurry up and get on the ball. blizzard may be able to claim ownership over starcraft brood war, but they cant claim ownership over a totally different game with different graphics and unit names. blizzard cant claim ownership over the stats and health and costs they give to units in a RTS virtual real-time chess like boardgame. thats all starcraft broodwar is. starcraft broodwar is nothing more than a real-time chess-like virtual boardgame. if KESPA created their own real-time virtual boardgame with the exact same unit stats as starcraft brood war but calls it something else, then kespa will be able to broadcast freely without having to pay blizzard a god damn penny plz kespa, hurry!

... For the following three years, we tried very hard to have negotiations where we could correct a skewed situation and reach mutual understanding. ... So where the fuck have you been in the other 7 years, Blizzard?
