Terran is not overpowered at all, just because you personally lose to terran doesn't mean terran is op it just means your bad. The terran players have a win/loss ratio about the same as every other race, and its not exactly like terran players are dominating tournaments. The 'major buff' to terran does nothing besides perhaps giving terran a slightly more powerful rush, and more importantly, facilitates transitions better. Do you have any idea how annoying it was to transition into a mid-game terran army before, and start pumping medivacs, doing the upgrades, and still doing actual unit upgrades in the ebay? Obviously not, because doing any of this stalled your production so badly it was ridiculous. The upgrades still take the same time to research, 50/50 cheaper each is not a major buff imo.

I want more then that, I want it to tell them what my opponent is doing to and make a post everytime a unit is killed, ooo maybe constant updates on my mineral and gas gathering rate too

For 125 energy, what if it drops like 5 of them instead?

I'll admit that a single infested terran for 125 energy would be pretty useless, but the wording from blizzard is very vague thus far.


there's no mention in the notes anywhere that the infested terran spell was changed...I think it's safe to assume it's the exact same as it was on the Infestor, meaning only one infested terran.

the only difference is that it spawns directly underneath the overseer (this was mentioned specifically in the patch notes)

2 reasons we can be 99% sure:

1) It says the spell works same way as infestor version
2) Their reasoning post said they don't want people massing overseers-- hence why it got bumped to 125 energy not 25 energy. You'd be able to doomdrop with 0 supply units and no ventral sacs while having a 200/200 army at the front door! lol

I am curious though if contamination stops normal larva production. Did the old corruption stop it, or just queen prodo/upgrades ? And injects for the matter, though I do believe injects went off anyway.

It's going to be funny that the spell "Infested" Terran is not casted by an "Infestor."
Hard to appear that they aren't just moving spells around in a semi-panic to make the race more interesting.

Keep an OL by the Protoss base and turn it into an Overseer, find the Robo Fac, and Contaminate it.

I know it's not very elaborate, just a very basic idea that I have for a build. Immortals and Force Field are the only things that can save Protoss from a Roach attack, which are nullified by Burrow and Contaminate. Meh, I guess it counters any Protoss attempts to counter Roaches.

Im gonna assume youre a terran player, you do realise terran has had like no nerfs in any patch right? Zerg/Protoss have been getting nerfed to hell while terran is constantly given buffs

except the one time they made marauders slow cost 50/50 and take no time to finish, not like youd be pushing out before its done anyway.

yup, 125 energy for 1 infested terran, ie it is now going to be used even less then when the infestor had it...

Making it 25 energy again though would be a mistake, as then overseers would be spammed just for this ability.

Making it 75 energy would probably be good, so you can get 2 off, and have energy for a changling still (from a full overseer, which admitedly shouldn't happen)

as soon as you build your twilight council it gets corrupted if they are actually doing this right?

I just dont understand what Blizzard is thinking with these last few patches. I thought the game was pretty much balanced after patch 11? Now it seems like Blizzard makes changes that are bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger. Chagnes should be getting smaller.
Those small maps were like a boxing match in a phone booth.

Actually a use I see for having is dropping an infested terran to distract a stalker or marine for a few seconds to contaminate safely.

Actually a cool terran implementation would be dropping one in range of a siege mode tank too close to their own mineral line to cause friendly splash damage. How great would that be?! lol

6 Infested Terran with +3 ranged should be able to down an undefended command center before they die. 9 Unupgraded ones will do the trick as well. If you don't lose the overseers and consider the overlord cost seperate that's 900/450 without upgrades for the downed CC (600/300 with) (plus you keep the Overseers generally). To down a CC with banelings costs 1425/475 and you lose all the banelings (but you do score drone kills as well). **

For Mutalisks, by comparison, you'd need 14 mutas (1400,1400) to down a command center in the same amount of time.

Not saying its viable, but there are the numbers for you. It does seem like they will be worthwhile for building harassment considering the low risk involved.

*I'm using the wiki's 20second lifespan not 15 seconds.

I'm excited about all the changes. It's a whole new ball field! A great opportunity for Blizzard to gather more information for their theory crafting. There has been so many changes I'm thinking the Beta downtime to be a time for them to examine hundreds of possibilities and the endless information the beta has provided to improve the final product. I think it's also a great time for players to try out a second race and see how it feels as well. I've switched from T to P 2 weeks ago. I might try switching back. Seriously though, stop crying. It's a beta, these kinds of changes are part of the process, so make the best of them. For most people I'm sure improving your mechanics is the #1 thing you can do to improve anyway, me included.

Looks like a great patch to me. A lot of things the community's been asking were fixed. Well not a lot but at least Zerg is now more complex and interesting, Void Ray range decrease is nice too.
