thanks 7mk and Jacobs for posting your input earlier sometime today.

I know everyone is fussing over this balance stuff, but seriously? I think we should be a little more worried on the useless units such as the mothership which needs some serious tweaking, and zerg needing a little variation seems to be a good balance so far.

Though my biggest concern is... Does anyone know how well this stability + numerous performance improvements could be helping? Will that stop the drastic memory leak thats been going on my computer when i have like 8 gbs of virtual memory.

There are probably a handful of players on TL that truly have a right to discuss what is balanced and what is not. I was a 1700 plat with like 75% win rate pre patch, in the top 8 of my division, and I had no idea what was going on.

I managed to get their because I was a "decent/good" broodwar player (C+/B- iccup) and with macro/micro and good army control I could beat opponents. But in depth build orders, timing attacks, etc, I had no idea what was going on, and I really could not say what races were better.

I think almost everyone should try to adjust their strategies, and if their race got nerfed and they were already having trouble with it, then odds are you were doing a bad build or simply sucking with your race rather than blizzard doing the exact opposite of what should happen.

Anyway this patch needs to start downloading...

There's no way in the current ZvZ that you're going to be able to rush overseer without losing all of your drones to speedling/bling.

EVERYONE is fogetting though how before when the corruptor had it, noone complained.

(And people wouldnt get 2-3 corruptors, they would get 8+ for broodlords later, yet nearly noone complained back then)


I do agree, but one big difference though is that corruptors are a pretty late game unit, and you can get overseers pretty dang quick.
Why isn't there a "random" option regarding my icons race? :/

No they didn't. They looked at the top players. Calling anything but the higher MMRatings of platinium "high level play" would be an insult.

i think the change to diamond league was because it copper/bronze was aesthetically hard to distinguish between, and that is ALL.
As for the balance changes, contaminate seems like it would be OP in the hands of a very skilled player, basically any army trade situation could become an insta win for the zerg if they have 2-3 fully charged overseers waiting by the opponents main. It also makes critical upgrades like warpgate tech and thermal lance hard to get. I think this would be solved if it was a channeled ability, so that it stopped if the overseer was killed but thats just me theory crafting.

on a side note, the patch isnt downloading...

Has anyone heard from TOP protoss players on their thoughts of this map?? White-ra, etc??

Are they also all switching over to terrans like most zerg players are??

I always felt Protoss was much weaker in the macro game, but now with FF and void ray nerfs, it looks like their units cant compete either. Anyone else feel Protoss will be non-existent in more locations than just korea in afew months with how many nerfs they get in every patch??
