No touch to voidray ?....UMMMMMMMMMMM OK...
made smaller, less units can attack it at once, less of your own get stuck on it--- and you're calling it a nerf?
Much less not good?
lol.
Tank + thor + marine and/or hellion is going to be devastating to zerg now. What we're supposed to rush tech to hive for brood now to deal with t2 armies? /sigh

Dude, the Thor did NOT get a nerf.

Those are pros.

Fun to see some people almost ready to end their lifes cause of the Roach-nerf. Its still just beta stage and they are suppose to trying out/tweaking some units, they have all the data collected from all the matches. So its not like they are blindy doing these changes are some of you are making it seem.

Lol that was not a nerf .. And I don't understant why they nerfed roaches that way rather than lowering hps.. also forge nerf : wtf ? :p

I think now is a good time to suggest that hydralisk den be moved to tier 1 and made to be like they were in BW, and move roach warren to tier 2 and make them a stronger unit?
I was playing zerg every once and a while for fun; this is exactly why I dont main them.
|
in the early game Zerg is no much likely helpless against an 4 gate Protoss ... omg can't believe this, but we have to wait and see, as always.
|
The Roach nerf was needed. There was simply no way a unit with those kind of stats was gonna stay 1 supply forever. The only issue is that Blizzard didn't rebuff all the burrow and regen mechanics that the Roach used to have. The Roach stats needed a nerf, but its abilities were what made it unique. Now it's probably the most generic unit in the game.
On the plus side, the Unholy Trinity is finally starting to crumble. Now we just have to wait for the Marauder to get their turn.

Seriously guys, stop whining; it's not the end just because roaches are at 2 food now. I, for one, think that this is a positive change because roaches are boring and I'm looking forward to seeing them used less.
What other unit can zerg build? By jacking up the roach to 2 food you actually blunt unit diversity for zerg. The only other unit to build now is the hydra. Roaches are now not cost effective like they used to be they are simply too much for not enough return.
Zerg diversity actually took a hit via this patch.

So zerg officially have ONE fighting unit that costs 1 supply(2 if you count blings). How awesomely UNzerg-like. I just feel like they're going in the wrong direction somewhere.
|
Honestly, I think roaches are one of the most dynamic and fun units for the zerg...I dont get people who say theyre boring. Especially with the burrowed roach play in the HDH people are starting to use them a lot more in different ways.

Your best unit in general versus terran should be infestors.....Fungal Growth Rapes almost everything Terran has.

Looks like now godly infestor control is absolutely required lategame. Playing protoss I allways felt like a ball of gateway units and colossi was incredible hard for zerg to deal with. Protoss could even aford ~ 6 phoenixes to deal with any broodlords/infestors. Now imagine a lategame army. Zerg only can have half the roaches at once, this is really bad. I don't see how they are supposed to get anything done.
|
smaller thors... just rename them to goliath. Also, thinking about changing race to terran, they are the new ez mode after all (from zerg).
And seriously, wtf, roaches 2 supply? Everyone say hello to mass speedlings, its all you are gonna see early game now (banes too).

really bad patch, now the zerg will be so behind vs all race! vs terran MASS MECA? what we will do? oh +2 supply roach nice 200vs200 ?_? so really bad vs protoss Happy push? ? roach? no sorry its really funny to see some protoss "omg my forge bla bla" LOL

Maybe I'm just bad, but I really don't get the Roach change. I thought Roaches were pretty well balanced after the armor nerf from way back when. ZvZ had a nice, healthy early game, with both speedlings and roaches being viable... Somehow I doubt the Roach transition against mass Speedlings is gonna work nearly as well now. You can still make a couple Roaches for a meatshield if you're going mass Hydra, I guess, but massing Roach as a core part of your unit mix just seems suicidal now. Early on, you can't afford to waste minerals and larvae on a stupid number of ovies to support your bloated supply cost. Later on, the strength per supply point of a Roach just won't hold up at all. Maybe 200 supply armies with heavy Roaches were a problem before (I don't see this as a problem - their DPS is lackluster, hard counters like Immos and Marauders eat them for lunch, and Zerg is *supposed* to be the best at the out-macro, war of attrition style of play, and having a low supply and resource cost meatshield was pretty crucial to that). Now, they're a waste of supply. The only time I can really see pumping a significant number of Roaches not being a bad idea is if you just lost a bunch of troops and need to rebuild quickly and on the cheap.
edit: it doesn't help that the Situation Report gives us much more detail on each of the other changes - why they shrunk the model of Thor, fixed a Vortex exploit and why they nerfed Forge rush builds - than the massive nerf to a T1.5 unit which they explained with a vague "they were too good so we made them worse" and a nonsensical claim that they're hard to counter even with the appropriate unit mix (sure coulda fooled me... Then again, I mostly play Toss, maybe it's harder for Terran?). Ugh.
edit2: as a Toss player I fully support the Forge nerf, although I think a nerf to cannons' warp-in time would make more sense if the concern is PC rush cheesing. That build lives and dies by the exact ratio of warp-in time to hp/shields on pylons and PCs; if the ratio were just a bit less favorable it would be a lot easier to shut down with workers. Maybe make Shields stop 'warping in' while the building is being attacked, just like they would stop regenerating if the building were complete? This would make it easier to stop proxy-based cheese *if you catch it early enough*.

Where do people see this thor nerf?
People still say Void Rays were nerfed a few patches ago. Hilarious.
