Any idea what razer registry key APMValue (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software) means now after patch 1.4.3? I have done some testing and I see this value jump all the way to 800+ when I spam at only about 300-400.
Did Blizzard completely change what this shows? Blizzard encodes APM values to confuse others who want to use these. It's a stupid encoding with no purpose at all other than that. You have to substract 5 from the first digit, 4 from the 2nd digit etc. If it "underflows" (e.g. negative), you have to add 10 to it.

Ok I downloaded sc2gears yesterday to check it out a little bit and I thought of a few services that might be of interest. Hope I'm not making some kind of mistake, please inform me if they're available as some sort of plugin
- APM redundancy alert. There's already a low APM alert, but that may just be forcing people to spam click a lot, that's pointless. I think it would be a great idea to have an alert if your APM redundancy is too high. I believe it will help maximize people's abilities greatly
- The wordcloud. It would be great if you could generate wallpapers from the wordcloud. It's already more of a for teh lulz function, so why not make that even more worth it. It may come in handy to have some minor control over the colours though.
- Autoloaded search filters. There's a bunch of saved replays in my folder that I don't really need in the list when I perform a replay search. Naturally that's what the search filters are for and it's great that you can save them, but it's quite annoying to have to manually load them for every search you perform. It would be a good idea to allow for autoloading of search filters from the saved filter folder (I guess this would go in the folder tab of the misc settings). Another option may be to add some kind of hotkey that you can press to refresh the search with filter binded to the hotkey.
- Surprisingly I find that the robot voice adds a lot of atmosphere to the game xD. I think it would awesome if there'd be a few more sentences in there. "Patching/Updating" during a patch, "Loading up" when you start up SC2, "Greetings Commander" upon login, "Victory/Defeat" upon win/loss. And more stuff like that, although there shouldn't be too many or it gets annoying

- Additional filter setting. Allow for the filter to only grab games played in the last xx days. From shooters we all know we improve, but it takes a while. After 3 years of play you look at you k/d and you see it's still 0.98 because you were really bad the first year, despite now ending first in almost all your games, it's pretty annoying. If you can let the filter automatically take only games played in the last xx days you'll always be provided with a w/l rate that suits your recent play. That would make it much more accurate and useful.
I hope you would consider some of these

Heh, my girlfriend (sometimes even myself) is often scared senseless with the "updates available", more voices would kill her I guess . But probably there is an option to shut them off somewhere because Dakota is so awesome anyway.

-If you don't want to load up all your replays, you can categorize them into different folders (Sc2gears can do that automatically for you => auto rename/manual rename and use subfolders in the name template), and you can create replay sources for the separate folders, and load only the replay source you want to see/use.
-You can already set your own sounds for victory and defeat. It's the "The Sound of Victory" plugin which is included by default. Go to the Tools menu => Plugin Manager, and enable and configure it.
-You can already filter games by replay date.

- too bad EDIT: actually can't this be done now by comparing apm to cpm? Even if it's Blizz' 'fake' apm/cpm it should still do the trick, right?
- I guess you could, but would require some additional editing :/... it was a just for funz thing anyway so it doesn't matter.
- It wasn't really about the unwanted replays, rather... When you make a filter for those things it's basically like you're altering settings for a program. Usually that would be saved, and next time you start that would still be the same, instead you have to load up those settings everytime. It's like having your own set of keys for sc2, but everytime you start the game it has the standard blizz keys set instead. I understand that separating the folders is a way around it, but it seems a little unintuitive :/.
- Is there any way to get my hands on a program with the smix voice? Oh wait, I thought smix was a computer generated voice xD, turns out it was person. It really sounds like the adjuctant :D. So is there a program that sounds a lot like smix/adjuctant :D
- I only see a way to filter FROM date X TILL date Y. What I meant instead was a dynamic filter that automatically only takes replays from X days AGO. Lets say 10 days ago, then today it'll take replays between feb13-feb23, but tomorrow it'll be between feb14-feb24.
I understand it's not easy to make a program like this. I'm not trying to sound pushy or anything. I just thought these might be some good features to add, as it seems almost every version of the program features something new built in.
Just my feedback. It'd be great if you'd consider some ideas and if you don't, great job anyway

-Maybe with time...
-You can right click on replay sources and lists, then you can choose "Apply filter". Your saved filters automatically appear in this menu.
-
-To filter reps and show you reps from the last X days, Sc2gears still has to look over all reps to examine their date. Once you do this, you already have the data to display them in the replays table, so it's not really slower. And the replay list is sorted by date by default, so your new replays are at the top always.

I love this program and you're great at actively answering questions from the community. Thank you for all you've done.

Dakota - Quick question.
When I try and 'search' for my SC2 Auto reps it will often come up something like Found: 2578, skipped 6, total 2584.
Similarly when I try and analyse in a multi replay analysis it say s analysed 2578, skipped 25, total 2578.
What causes replays to be skipped? Is there any way to identify which replays are having issues?
Edit: apologies, I've searched your FAQ and found WHY they are being skipped, but is there any way to identify which?
Cheers.

Cheers. Replays might be skipped due to them being too short. There is a time limit to be included in the multi-rep analysis, which is by default 120 seconds. You can change this on the Analyzer tab of the Misc settings dialog.
Another reason might be if Sc2gears cannot parse the replay (e.g. invalid replay).
You can find short games if you perform a replay search, and set the game length to max 2 minutes. To find the other category (e.g. invalid replays), you have to check the logs which will contain the file names: Help menu => View system messages. These messages are also saved in the "User Content/Logs" folder.

is there any way to change the APM Alert sound? I have some choice sounds I would like to use to remind myself to play faster...
|
If I may suggest a feature for the UI.
Often I perform a search with custom filters etc to narrow down the range of games I want to view (I.e Season 6, particular player).
When I'm playing I like to see how I have been going throughout the day, so I will often go back in and search again to refresh the results and get the most up to date games that have been played.
It would be awesome if in the search results screen, along with "Save list, Load List, Set as Source and Multi-rep analysis" you have a "Refresh" button to redo the search in the same window with whatever filters were applied in the first place.
This would allow people to get updated information without having to close the results, going back and researching, making the UI a little friendlier.
Thanks for your time.

Thanks for your time. I will think about it.
But you can "re-search" it now if you go to the Filters tab and press the "Perform search" button. You'll get the results on a new tab.

Hi there. I have created replays sources for each game type that I'd like to separate. My replay template is /f\ /Y\ /D /T /m /h./e. The problem I'm having is that each day that I play, sc2gears creates a new subdirectory instead of saving to the folder that already exists. So like today, I have a C:\SC2Replay Archive\1v1\AutoMM and I want all my 1v1 ladder games to save there, but sc2gears created C:\SC2Replay Archive\1v1\ AutoMM (space intentional) after my first game. Any way to fix this? Thanks for such a great program!

If in the folder you create there is no space, and the name template you provided has a space as the first character of the folder name, then they are 2 different folders, so Sc2gears creates it if it does not exist.
If you want all your 1v1 ladder games to be saved in the "C:\SC2Replay Archive\1v1\AutoMM" folder, you can do this in this way for example: 1) Set your auto-save folder to "C:\SC2Replay Archive". 2) Set your name template to "/f\/Y\/D /T /m /h./e" - without the spaces as the first characters of the sub-folders!
