People will forget all about this delay once the game is released. It is way better than releasing the game on time but with obvious imbalance problem, and shitty online match service, because then the fanbase will remeber that for sure.

"run the risk of making fanbase angry"
hehe are you really going to not play sc2 because of delays? blizzard knows they could delay this for 10 years and it'd sell even more

This doesn't mean that they pushed back the US beta again, it just means that in Russia the beta will come in 2010.
I really want to say this is a very good point, but at the same time I'd rather not get my hopes up ;_;

This is completely unexpected. I am so surprised.

You mean MW 2.0000000000000

Lol. How .. unsurprising. I feel sorry for the ppl who care.

I can't say I'm surprised. I'm used to waiting by now. I know that eventually I'll be playing Starcraft 2 with a huge smile on my face, I guess that takes away all the harsh and careless changes of "release date" that Blizzard continuously throws at us. I love starcraft, but I don't know in which hole I want to stick Blizzard.

really, can anyone honestly say they're surprised? I wouldnt be surprised if the beta were delayed till 2011 tbh

Cmon Blizzard, I only have till 2012 when the world ends [lol] hurry up!

That's actually an excellent point.

AGAIN...all we have is the one, Google-translated Q & A which says, and I quote: Q: When will StarCraft 2? A: Tomorrow (laughter). Of course not. Usually Blizzard we're not talking about dates. While we plan for next year to do a beta test. As soon as we feel that the game is released we will release it soon.
The fact that this is a Google-translated Russian transcription of a live event, the fact that Beta in Russia won't start until 2010 regardless (even if its late November/December here, it's gonna take a while to get everything up and running), and the fact that even in the US, they're still going to be doing the bulk of their Beta testing in 2010 (hence, possibly we're "doing a Beta test" next year...anyone?) all don't exactly add to the veracity of this story. Especially as this is the only source for this "scoop" I've been able to find.
Now, again, this could very well be true...but, come on, this just isn't convincing stuff. At all. When Karune or Cydra or someone official confirms it, yeah, I'll be sad. But at this point, I'm becoming less and less convinced of the veracity of this extremely-overhyped-yet-largely-groundless rumor by the moment.
Hold your horses, people...

Actually now that I think of it, the Q&As have pretty much stopped. Maybe they're pretty happy with what they got. Meh.. They are gonna change the game during beta as well ;o

1 - In May~June 2009, Blizzard started sending out beta invites to some handpicked players (you can find a newspost about it here), as well as telling gaming journalists to prepare themselves by making battle.net accounts.
2 - They then followed that up by announcing "beta this summer".
3 - They then cancelled this citing Battle.net 2.0 as the reason, and moved beta to "late 2009".
Now, you could be all paranoid about this and think it has something to do with the multiplayer not being ready, but why would you? Everyone who has played the game seems to think it's more or less ready to go into beta, Blizzard are saying it's ready to go into beta...
There have been NO big changes to multiplayer in a looooooooong time. When was the last time you saw a unit cut? Aside from the macro mechanics, that are almost a year old by now, when was the last time you saw a new feature?
Maybe it's not Battle.net 2.0 that's holding things back, maybe it's single player. Maybe it's Modern Warfare being released and them not wanting to collide with it.
Maybe the reading in goats innards suggested they push it back, I don't know, I'm just fairly sure it has nothing to do with multiplayer gameplay.
