This is really just ridiculous. On the positive side, my spring semester was already going to be crazy. Now I'll be able to succeed at everything I'm planning on doing, with no gaming distractions. Heck, If I don't end up with a beta key, I can even pass Organic Chem sophmore year with all the extra study time.

In fact blizz, just postpone this game until summer 2013 and let me graduate with a 4.0 - then I'll buy it.

i think sc2 keeps getting pushed back becuase me getting a girlfriend keeps getting pushed back...blizzard wants me to win the race...what happens first, me get a girfriend or sc2 come out...

I'm not sure anything has been confirmed yet, although that isn't to say it's wrong. I guess what I'm trying to say is that when it was clear SC2 wasn't going to be released this year, Blizzard put up an announcement on the battle.net forums.

I expect the same would happen for the beta especially considering all the times in the past where they "confirmed" that it would happen 2009. In a sense, because they haven't posted anything yet it might mean that are still optimistic of a 2009 beta release. Either that, or the public isn't even worth it anymore to bother such an announcement. Given the silence with the recent activities, either scenario could be true.

I must be the stupidest of all, saving my vaction two years in a row until the very end in the off chance there would be a beta. I should have spent that time with the bikini's this last summer.

Now I have a ton of vacation days to find a place to use for work.

...I guess that's not so bad though, wish I could have gone on the summer trips with my friends though.

He was talking about beta in general and not specifically about a Russian beta.

About Mike Morhaime contradicting that. Where did you read it? Don't remember him saying anything other that the development team is working hard towards beta - which they in fact are. This does not contradict Chris' statement though.

Also crushes the speculation that he was only referring to Russian beta as well.

Sad to hear, can't say it's unexpected tho, every company (not just Blizzard) is pushing back betas (Duke Nukem Forever anyone?)

It hurts to hear that they are working with fan feedback and they know the best fan feedback is gongi to come after they give us the beta. until then we don't really know shit in terms of balance and feel. Theorycrafting can only go so far.
